John Wilding looked so different from last year what a change, I didn't think his audition was that good though, room for improvement though.
The inevitability of it all is what puts me off I think. You just know he's going to last until at least halfway through the live shows...

John Wildings was pretty good and for some reason I find 2 Shoes sort of charming I guess? Strange....

Nobody really blew me away though.

Can someone explain to me why singers do that thing with their hand like they're trying to push a wall that's closing in on them?

I can see him going rather early, to be honest. I don't see the public taking to him in their droves.

John Wilding strikes me as New Joe. Both fantastic singers, both very difficult to market and I think after the disaster with Joe SyCo will be quite careful with things like that.
I only really saw two great acts tonight. The first being the fit Welsh maths teacher (who is definitely a gayer) - I thought his singing voice was quite similar to James Blunt's, but it was very good. Also John Wilding, who I didn't think much of last year - but seems like he has improved a lot since. 2 Shoes shocked me in that they were actually better than average, but they're still not brilliant.

I'd agree but it's just always the way the show works. The comeback kid stays for at least a few weeks.

Misha?!

Couldn't stand her. Dreadful attitude, off-puttingly cocky, too many vocal ticks and clearly believes she's the new Aretha. She really isn't.

My favourite is Janet do far, and I have a feeling I'll love Carolynne Poole who they showed in the preview clips for tomorrow (she was in Fame Academy).

Apparently Louis kicked her out at Judges Houses in favour of Goldie (angry face) - I hope it isn't true!!. Also I read Janet isn't through to the lives either on DS forums - but I doubt it tbh (well I hope so)

I get the latter two but I don't get where you get the terrible attitude/massive cockiness from? She struck me as someone who knew she was good (and frankly I have no idea why people seem to think that's a BAD thing!) but not really as someone who was dreadfully up themselves or exuded thundercunt vibes or anything.

That's not really surprising.

Louis Walsh each year is made out to be the judge joke so he gets whatever the worst category is. He puts the joke acts through - you know, when a truly talented singer is bottom 2 with some absolute joke and Louis saves the "joke" despite them being totally outperformed by the other person in the sing off?

Le sigh!!! :(

I also agree with Liam about John Wilding. It is the same lad, right? Last year it was freckles ahoy. This year it's make up ahoy. :D I also wasn't impressed either but then look at 2009 when they had that TERRIBLE singer (not Joe or Lloyd - the other one who was so bad I forget his name now) come back after being rejected the previous year and he made the live shows. :manson:

Edit; he was called Ricky I think. :puke:

John Wilding was my favourite last year, and is my favourite again this year. Love him.

I loved Carolynne! Completely forgot about her.

I missed X Factor on ITV and now I'm watching it on ITV2.

Can't wait to see that Cannonball performance. :o

EDIT: John was amazing. One to watch.

That guy who sang 'Cannonball' by Damien Rice (one of my favourite songs!) was brilliant. Really hoping he does well!

Girl V Boy on The Xtra Factor were surprisingly good. The girl reminds me of Cher Lloyd vocally, actually :o

Olly distracted me in those TIGHT jeans

But yeah, they were so good! Especially when they sang A Thousand Miles (lush song) I know the 'ooh, we don't like that one - sing something else *magically they have another backing track and know all the lyrics*' is a bit cliche but they are definitely in the top 3 groups we've seen. They remind of Same Difference a bit, except a bit more serious. And the girl is remiscent of Cher Lloyd, Jonjo is right!

I know what you mean about the "sing another track" thing but when you audition, you're asked to take a back up song to perform too I think. It's just we usually just see the one song. I'm glad they were given another shot though. VLV did not suit them, at all.
