Our summer was in April - did you miss it? :P

I thought that was a warm-up for a long hot summer. :( Honestly, if this abysmal weather continues, I'm emmigrating to California.

Personally, I love this cool fresh summer weather - though I suspect my recent purchase of an air conditioner scared off the warmth.

I think Example is this year's summer anthem - although when you look at it from the idea that April was our summer, then LMFAO is the anthem for this year.

#022 Foster the People 'Pumped Up Kicks'

#034 Chris Brown ft. Justin Bieber 'Next 2 You'

#075 Chase & Status ft. Tinie Tempah 'Hitz'

#104 Pitbull ft. Chris Brown 'International Love'

#138 Jay Sean ft. Lil Wayne 'Hit the Lights'

#146 Kelly Rowland 'Work (Freemasons Radio Edit)'

The latter two are climbing due to usage on the adverts between Geordie Shore (on MTV in general) and due to usage on last night's episode of Eastenders. Interesting to see if they climb any more.

I think this may actually be a slow burner and make the Top 10 eventually! :D

LMFAO is definately this years summer anthem. The title of the track says it all, it's a party rock anthem. It spent 12 weeks T10 for a reason, the general public really love it and Example won't come close to shifting as many copies as them. Haven't heard the FTP song. I'll check that out soon

It's more of a spring anthem lol.

Example probably would be this years summer anthem

Britney looks so beautiful in the I Wanna Go video. I hope it can go top 40, but I doubt it. :( I'm sure it'll go top 10 in the US though.

2010 had some AMAZING Summer Anthems! All Night Long, California Gurls, Stereo Love, Alejandro, Waka Waka (to name a few!)

LMFAO is definitely not this year's summer anthem!

It's certainly one of the biggest singles of the year but it's not a summer anthem.

Maybe GaGa has one up her sleeve. 'The Edge of Glory' could have been one with a more summery video and a huge push commercially.

Changed The Way You Kissed Me could be classed as the 'summer' anthem so far, I would predict it being played in many holiday disco's/summer parties
In a weird way I would say Pitbull is the summer anthem, such a brilliant song.
:o Foster The People climbing a lot again! They had fallen to #27 earlier today! I hope it turns out to be a slow-burner.
Summer 2010 was very, very good for music imo. There's no way we'll be able to top that this year.

I know! Songs like 'California Gurls', 'Dynamite' (I hate the song personally), 'Te Amo', 'Teenage Dream', 'Stereo Love' etc defined Summer of '10. We have nothing this year. I'm depressed. :( Talk about pathetic fallacy. :drama:

I feel the year started off with very good number 1 singles. they have got quite boring the past month though IMO.

 Yeah, there was so much. Also We No Speak Americano, Airplanes, One, Start Without You, I Need Air, Not Afraid, Waka Waka, Missing You, Club Can't Handle Me. There was just so much.

Te Amo? Not sure about that one

It was popular early summer I think. Unless you mean that it wasn't a particularly big hit. It was on the radio an awful lot though, which was a shame, because I hated the song. :puke:

Rihanna also released Hard, but that flopped and missed the top 40.

I can't see any potential 'anthems' atm (not on the scale of California Gurls, Dynamite (:puke), Stereo Love, Waka Waka etc. anyway). Wynter Gordon's album SCREAMS summer, sadly Dirty Talk flopped (relatively, it is holding up well though :o) and brilliance like Rumba, Buy My Love and 'Til Death will be unheard by the British masses :(

Oh, and yay for Foster The People - really like PUK! I checked out a few more songs by them and they seem a pretty great band! :o
