Cascada with three! Not that long ago with the most recent only in 2009!

That said, I don't see Get Back (ASAP) going top 5, strangely early for a poll though - this is AATW we're talking about - they'll push it out by March if we're lucky and it'll go in at #38 with everyone having forgotten about her...

When was the last time a European dance act got two top 5s with their first 2 singles then :P

You just beat me to that. :)

Basshunter - 2008!

If you want a comprehensive list of European dance acts that have managed more than one UK top 5 hit, I can think of;

Cascada

Basshunter

Alice Deejay

Ian Van Dahl

Vengaboys

2Unlimited

Eric Prydz

Corona

Scooter

Aqua

Robert Miles

Daft Punk

DJ Sammy

Sash!

Darude

Mousse T

ATB

Fragma

Eiffel 65

Granted it's not a massively frequent occurrence but Cascada, Basshunter and Eric Prydz are fairly recent...

I'd personally consider 3 years since the last one quite a long gap :P

(Also, you missed out Benny Benassi :kink: Although one of his was obviously a feature)

I also missed David Guetta *facepalm*

It's a long gap but so was the gap between DJ Sammy in early 2003 and Cascada in late 2006, I see no reason why it won't happen again although I'm not certain that it will be Alexandra Stan that breaks the duck purely because it screams low top ten/mid top twenty to me.

September could chalk up a second top five hit with Me & My Microphone, which spent 9 weeks at #1 in Sweden recently and sounds like a 'hit', but I have a feeling that it's one release that will be royally buggered up.

'Me And My Microphone' has been around for ages, so I don't see it doing anything here. And the foreign version is better than the English edit - I can't say that a lot and me saying it obviously means MAMM is not very good. September is over in the UK (and I'm not talking about the month :kink:)

41-75... it's way too similar to Mr Saxobeat and that just doesn't work in the UK

Cascada

Basshunter

Ian Van Dahl

Vengaboys

2Unlimited

If that doesn't work in the UK then how did this lot manage to fool everyone and get away with it?

P.S. There's also Snap!, Culture Beat, Technotronic and a pointless answer... B.B.E.! :D You could also count Ace of Base if Aqua qualify really.

Around 21-30. Very similar to Mr Saxobeat. But love this record.

Can't see it doing as well as Mr Saxobeat. Although I would like it if it did have the same success as Mr Saxobeat.

Has this been confirmed for UK release.

Usually with acts like Alexandra Stan, they'll have 1 big hit

*They*?

I assumed that Alexadra Stan was the name of the attractive female singer?

Hardly setting the charts alight in Europe so far - Can see this zooming into the charts at #46

Dont think it sounds similar to Saxobeat at all, except the beginning of the song. In fact, I'd say its alot better than Saxobeat

Its only been released in France so far, its been top20 there. I think top40 in the UK.

I hope this goes top 5, it deserves to. I reckon top low top 20 or top 30 though, really hope I'm wrong. And she looks amazing in the video .

Edited by starryeyed

it deserves a number #1 :D

Doesn't deserve to be #1 imo, top 10 yes but not #1.

  • 5 months later...

Bump.

It looks like this is *finally* getting released next week.

I'm not sure how relevant our original poll predictions are after all this time, though.

Well I think it won't peak in the release week (because of Christmas) but eventually it could climb. 11-20 somewhere imo.
