I've been feeling very like Sharon this week, I've gone back to Aberystwyth after 2 years since I left uni, walking into all my old haunts and seeing some old friends. I really like the way she hasn't been centre of attention because everything seems more natural (besides the wedding crap obvs)

So the Kat mystery shagger storyline concludes on Sept 14th when Alfie finds out.

I'm almost certain it's Derek... the others have all basically had neon signs hanging over their heads saying "HE'S ACTING SUSPICIOUSLY!" whereas Derek hasn't been featured much, therefore is the most 'surprising' outcome.

Ew. No thanks!

Finished catching up on Eastenders, I wrote a little paragraph of my thoughts after each episode…

13 August episodes were AWFUL. Crap acting with those involved in the Sharon storyline and the storyline is messed up – why would Sharron forget about her OWN son and why would she need Phil to help get him back when he was exactly where she left him? The duff-duff moment was especially awful and cheesy, Sharon’s “shock” that her son was being kidnapped was just as bad as Ken Barlow realising his son Pete was trapped in the tram crash episode of Corrie! And Phil was completely useless!

14 August – Great acting from Denise and Shirley (although Shirley’s crying scenes aren’t too good, but then again, crying doesn’t exactly fit in with who she is). Not sure why they needed a taxi to get to the police station when it’s only a couple of streets away! More bad acting in the Sharon storyline. I think I wouldn’t mind the new Lucy as much if she didn’t have her stupid bodyguard boyfriend with her 24/7. Nice little twist at the duff-duff moment!

15 August – Very nice scene with Sharon and Jack, great lines and acting! Also some great scenes with Ben and Shirley, I usually can’t stand Ben, but I guess seeing Shirley ripping the truth out of him made me feel good! I did wonder why the bath was magically full, but I guess Ian didn’t let the water out after he finally had a wash! Best episode since Ian’s return.

16 August – I can sort of understand why Sharon’s first couple of episodes were crap – the producers or writers or whatever rushed it to move onto her getting to know the other characters and settling in, but obviously needed an over the top return for the papers and reporters to get a hold of it and sell it for the show to get big views. Unfortunately, it seems Eastenders are going to recycle another storyline when a similar one hasn’t finished yet – Lucy will destroy Ian by taking away everything he owns, just like Michael is doing to Janine!

17 August – Another great line – “I didn’t think it was that special” “Yeah, that was probably what you fiancé is thinking”. That policewoman is an awful actor, if someone admits to murder, you don’t just not believe them because they’ve lied before and try and change the words coming out their mouth. And thank God Mr Potato Head has gone! :cheer:

20 August – Sharon sounds so much like Tracy-Ann Oberman who played Chrissie Watts when Sharon was last in Eastenders. Great acting with Jay I thought.

21 August – Another good episode with great acing from Jay again. I love how for once an aftermath hasn’t be terrible or boring!

Not as much of good episode tonight. Joey's lack of emotions makes Kristen Stewart look like she's on cloud 9!

Joey has suddenly become very hateful. Poor episode tonight.

Im intrigued about how Ian will eventually retaliate against Lucy and get his business and house back. I would have to agree that last nights episode was the weakest episode over the last 2-3 weeks, enjoyable all the same.
I thought Sharon's return with the whole wedding fiasco was completely stupid. Surely they could have thought of some other way to bring her back into it? And how did she know where Phil was now living? Glad to have her back though, she's always been a great character.

I presume she may have arrived in the Square and asked the first person she saw where Phil Mitchell lives...

I did think the whole wedding thing was a bit LAME but it was an adequate of introducing Dennis Jnr. We've got a bit of an idea of how protective Sharon is over him and some hint of a big secret she's afraid of.

Suppose that's possible. Don't really get why she went to Phil in the first place though. Why didn't she just go back and collect the kid herself? Oh well it's over with now

RETRIEVES SON FOR A SECOND TIME

Well ignoring that! She was very odd when Jack was fussing around him and she's said on more than one occasion, "I'd do anything for Dennis." I'm presuming we're meant to read something into that.
My guess is prostitution. There were plenty of references to gutters and tramp-like qualities...
Apparently

Shenice

is leaving. I don't know if Eastenders will be able to recover from this if true.
