Kate Nash - Paris! It had HIT written all over it IMO, and it charted at #187 when the album was released due to strong downloads. Shame it never got released. And the next 2 singles (after Do-Wah-Doo) failed to chart...

Lucie Silvas - Twisting The Chain, Something About You

Oh I've also missed off this beauty from N-Dubz 'Love. Live. Life' album...

They should stick to giving Tulisa solo's tbh.

Lady GaGa - Dance In The Dark

Yeah definitely, although I think I read somewhere recently that the record company wanted to release this, but Gaga wanted Alejandro, and what Gaga wants, Gaga gets!

Someone Wake Me Up aside, this is a great track and really should have been released. Ambitions should have been forgotten altogether.

No, if we're talking Joe McElderry, the Ambitions B-side 'If You Love Me' should have been the single, to this day it still baffles me why they didn't go with that, and relegated it to a B-side instead, I'm almost certain it would have been Number 1, it's just unbelievably catchy:

Professor Green ft. Labirinth - Oh My God (Alive 'Til I'm Dead) - How the awful Jungle beat it to be a single I'll never know!

Beyonce - Radio (I Am... Sasha Fierce) - I mean Diva, Ego and Videophone over this? TRAVESTY!

I wouldn't call Jungle awful, but Oh My God definitely would have done better in the charts.

Radio by Beyonce should definitely have been a single.

Britney Spears - Breathe On Me. Best track she has ever recorded, could've been huge with critics, radio and fans.

Girls Aloud - Girl Overboard. The obvious 4th single.

Wow, forgot about Breath On Me, I remember thinking at the time what an obvious single choice it was.

With Girls Aloud, yeah Girl Overboard would have been good, but for me Miss You Bow Wow from the Out Of Control album should have been a single.

Also, 'Let's Get Ugly' from the Wanted's album would have made a really obvious single.

I'm sure there's literally hundreds more we could all come up with...

It seems that both Stutter and I Can't lie are going to end up as unreleased album tracks with immense potential, both off of Hands All Over by Maroon 5.

Pink - Dear Mr. President I'm Not Dead

Surprised it was not released in the UK. It was absolutely huge e.g. in Austria(1), Germany(3), Switzerland(3), Belgium(1). It was the 5th single from "I'm not dead" there and also the most successfull one! :o

Pink - Bad influence

Britney - Baby boy ( a song that never made the final cut from blackout, i can understand why as it would of felt out of place as Blackout was an unbeat album but i liked this song and the lyrics. It was about her breakup with Kevin.)

I know this is from a lot further back than what everyone is talking about, but the most popular non-single track is widely believed to be Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl which regularly polls highly on Radiod 2 pollls and the like.

I have to admit not being very familiar with any track that wasn't a single, despite owning a fair few albums. One album I'm very familiar with though is Welcome to The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance and I've always thought that despite it's obviously quite depressing subject matter that 'Cancer' would've made a very sublime single as it's so poignant. Or maybe not? 'Mama' would've made a very good rockier one to follow Teenagers maybe? I also think that 'Teenagers' should've been 2nd or maybe even first, I've played the album to many friends who aren't familiar with MCR and it's always Teenagers they particularly like or remark on. I don't really know why they made 'Famous Last Words' a single though. Even 'Disenchanted' would've been a better single, I love how it starts as a sort of ballad almost and then bursts into the rockier bit.

BTW someone mentioned Pixie Lott's Rollin Stone, I'm pretty sure that it WAS a single. I remember spending my free promotional credit on it on my mobile when whichever network I was on at the time launched a download facility. In any case it was my ring tone for a while after, but I had to change cos I kept enjoyin the music and forgetting I was meant to answer the fone when I heard it lol.

And as for Lily Allen, I do think F**k You would've made a good single but was probably seen as too controversial to promote, rather like Alfie from the first album which was relegated to a b-side of another (3rd?) single despite being the best track on the album. I was at the Radio 1 event in Swindon 2 years ago and saw Lily perform (rather badly) live, she said something to the effect that the establishment had banned her from performing and promoting 'f**K you' and could we all join her in singing the song at the establishment as she was going to perform it anyway, I can only presume that the Beeb cut the live broadcast at that point lol. It was actually one of the two best songs she did that night, the other highlight was the Britney cover (title escapes me at the mo) which I definitely would've bought as a single if it had been one, but I do realise that it would've been a lower seller due to Britney's version already being popular.

One album I'm very familiar with though is Welcome to The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance and I've always thought that despite it's obviously quite depressing subject matter that 'Cancer' would've made a very sublime single as it's so poignant.

Not sure about it being a single for obvious reasons, but Cancer really deserves to be a more widely known song. I agree with you about Disenchanted as well. That might be my favorite song on the album next to Famous Last Words.
