20 N Pink Greatest Hits… So Far!!!

Without sales for this week

Excellent to see an official new peak for Caro Emerald again, got some real staying power! #24 is a bit low for Cascada, perhaps a lot of people don't realise that the Greatest Hits is tacked onto the second disc. Odd that Scooter should get a #1 out of doing the same thing and Cascada can't go top 20 :/

Not massively enthusiastic about any of the top 3 singles but that is a VERY good top 3 albums, pretty much my favourite albums of the past 6 months! Once again the album chart is far more to my taste than the singles chart, Ed Sheeran excepted.

13 12 Chris Brown Yeah 3X

14 14 Chris Brown feat. Benny Benassi Beautiful People

15 15 Chipmunk feat. Chris Brown Champion

Cheap thrills are always some of the best.

Gutted Don't Hold Your Breath fell out the top 40 this week :(

Soundgirl - Don't Know Why at #45 :(:(

Cheap thrills are always some of the best.

I was going to comment on that too.

Also, since we're almost half-way through the year now, does anybody think it's reasonable to assume all of the current YTD top 20 is likely to finish in the year-end top 40?

Good to see Patrick Wolf managed a top 40 album at long last, deserved higher of course but still good. Disappointed to see SoundGirl not only missed the top 40 but landed below that mess that is Parade (whom I'm glad to see we might be rid of sooner rather than later.)

Really disapointed Def Leppard missed out on top 40 in the albums, after the midweeks i really thought it would stay top 40

I was going to comment on that too.

I guess we could check the situation last year to see if it's likely.

I'm pretty sure that 1 to 14 will make it and I think Nicole and Aloe Blacc will make it too, not sure about some of the others.

I guess we could check the situation last year to see if it's likely.

17 Scouting For Girls This Ain't A Love Song 321800

18 Ellie Goulding Starry Eyed 314600

19 Cheryl Cole Parachute 306400

20 Florence & Dizzee You Got The Dirtee Love 295000 #

Only the top 16 mid-year finished in the top 40.

This isn't the midpoint of the year in terms of YTDs isn't it? I'm sure as far as the year chart is concerned this is week 25 and next week is the midpoint.

Surely one of the worst number one singles of the past 10 years - the Derulo song is truly, absolutely, unutterably Godawful.

People seem to say that about half of the #1s in the past couple of years. I guarantee you there'll be a song even worse (IYO) going to #1 in the next few months.

This. I can't take people seriously when they criticize a song anymore. It seems like with literally every single #1 people whine and complain about it. The only one where I can't remember anyone complaining was Someone Like You (but a lot of people don't even like that anymore now).

Thanks. :) I guess it makes sense, because there tends to be a few massive hits toward the end of the year.

We all have different opinions and aren't going to like the same stuff!

I'm sure if this forum had been around in 1998 the likes of B*Witched, Billie, Steps and Boyzone achieving #1's week in week out wouldn't have gone down too well either...

I mean, that every single #1 this year has been "the worst ever". That's impossible, surely?

I, more than anybody, know what it's like having a different opinion to everyone else. I'm the only person in the world who finds Bad Romance boring.

By the way, if anyone is wondering why I've stuck 'feat. Mann' on SoundGirl's song, that's because track 1 on the Don't Know Why EP is a version that features him.
