Michaela May to represent Ramrynia in BJSC 82!

After much hype, tonight the BJSC 82 entries were revealed live from Danaelanda. Therefore it was announced that Ramrynia would be taking part in the second semi-final with the "stomping electropop" tune '1954' by Michaela May. It reminds me of the amazing style of music put out by Taylor Swift and Nina Nesbitt recently, it's so on trend. The quotes above were all taken from real reviews so this song is really THAT GOOD, and we hope you all love it as much as we do!

Check out the music video below NOW!

A change of broadcaster, a change of direction...

Following a dip in enthusiasm from broadcaster RTV (Ramrynia Television), who has broadcasted BJSC for 50 contests, and increasingly mixed results, now that the country and broadcaster have been able to celebrate their 50th anniversary the reigns are being passed over to Ramrynia's other main TV station RBC (Ramrynia Broadcasting Corporation). RBC have been working extremely closely with the BJBU (BuzzJack Broadcasting Union) over the past few weeks in preparation for their first contest in charge of Ramrynia's entry, and as a result will be following the directive issued by the BJBU recently and holding a public national final.

Ramrynia have dabbled in the use of national finals in the past, primarily in their first 20 contests, by gathering opinions on a range of songs from other BJSC head of delegations via personal messages. Most recently Ramrynia held a national final, titled 'Ramryfestivalen', back in BJSC 63 which was only broadcast in the Union of Jubirdia. Following scoring from approximately 10 national juries and Ramrynia's own jury, Bebe Rexha was crowned the winner with 'I Can't Stop Drinking About You'.

Ramrynia: BJSC 87 Song Exhibition

RBC are therefore proud to announce the Ramrynia Song Exhibition, where five songs that have been shortlisted by the head of delegation will be released to the public for them to offer opinions on the potential entries. It was difficult to narrow down the high number of high quality submissions, but here are the five entries in the running:

SONG 1: Sexual performed by NEIKED

NEIKED is an upcoming male Swedish producer who has enlisted the help of an uncredited female vocalist to create 'Naked', an "irresistibly melodic pop track" that has hints of tropical sounds that fit perfectly with the track. The chorus showcases the vocalist's fantastic high vocal range and the song takes on a new level two minutes in!

SONG 2: You Said You Loved Me performed by Emmi

Fresh from playing Radio 1's Big Weekend, British-Australian Emmi has released the video for her new "ultimate pop anthem". The string segments in the catchy chorus are a little reminiscent of something you'd hear in Eurovision and the eh-eh-eh's and oh-oh-oh's are guaranteed to be stuck in your head.

SONG 3: What It Feels Like performed by Feed Me, featuring Nina Nesbitt

British producer Feed Me has enlisted the help of former BJSC participant Nina Nesbitt for new his "progressive house" track that has an undeniable pop melody. Perhaps a controversial entry into this national final, but RBC believes Nina's underwhelming past BJSC performance and UK chart performance should mean there is no issue for the BJBU. Nevertheless this is a fantastic production from Feed Me that showcases a completely different side to Nina that may have been overlooked by even her biggest fans without this promotion.

SONG 4: Comedown performed by PUZZLE

Brazilian-born, London-based PUZZLE is perhaps the most unusual inclusion in this exhibition, differing slightly from Ramrynia's usual tastes. Yet the thumping bassline, atmospheric vocals and booming post-chorus that arrives a couple of minutes in is a sure-fire way of getting yourself noticed by the Ramrynia delegation!

SONG 5: Be The One performed by RBECKA

RBECKA is a young and upcoming Swedish artist whose debut single 'Should Have Surrendered' was also submitted to this exhibition, and narrowly missed out in favour of this. Her new single 'Be The One' is a "well written slice of melodic pop, with an instantly gratifying chorus delivered via a proper popstar vocal". We think this is a fantastic piece of scandipop which would be a great follow-up to Cilia's entry last time out.

We think there is something for everyone, except Persephonia, in this line-up and we are intrigued to hear your thoughts on any or all of the songs. Feel free to give marks out of 10, a full 1-5 ranking, opinions on BJSC hit potential or absolutely anything that you want to tell us!

Sexual sounds very familiar for me! Pleasant vocal and chorus, should do very well I think :D

Song 2 will probably have a fair amount of appeal on it and it sounds like the kind of thing that always does well. Nina could also do well, as might Puzzle, and Be The One sounds great for me however ^_^

1. Puzzles - Love the production on this, quite indie-like, very impressed with Ryanmira, didn't expect this kind of sound to be a potential :o

2. Emmi - I had 'My Kinda Swag' as a potential in like February I think so no wonder that I would love this, very good pop song and artist

3. Feed Me featuring Nina Nessbits - Love her vocals but i feel like the production lets it down a tad.

4. RBECKA - Her vocals  The Song itself is alright but can see it being liked here

5. NIEKED - This is okay but I am not sure if its for me personally.

I think your best chance of getting a hit are with Puzzles or RBECKA, Hope this helps.

Nina  (does she not have quite a fan base?) I had Puzzle as a potential too, he is so good

I see a Persephonia artist recycle in there *.*

(Feed Me is the same person as Spor who I entered in BJSC52, a very fine choice of recycle even though I imagine this song is probably not even 1% as good as that xxx)

I'll comment on the rest later but I heard about "Sexual" from lurking in another forum and saw one poster stanning for it hard.

Thank you for all of the replies so far!

Yeah I'm not quite sure if she'd class as significant following or not (which is the only way it'd get into the veto zone), as I think it's pretty much just you, me, Joseph, Phil and another 1 or 2. I would've gauged her fanbase as a similar size as Lauren Aquilina's (both of them have threads that seem to usually stop around 10 replies) and she didn't get the significant following tag but we'll see!

I am trying to steer away from dance for the time being anyway, the majority of those I had on my list that didn't make it to the final 5 were dance songs - Feed Me was the best I found - but I think there's too much dance in BJSC at the moment which makes it difficult to stand-out.

Nina is surely a veto? It's my favourite of the five by far though, I rather love hearing her vocals on a track like this.

It just depends if she triggers that significant following clause or not, she probably does in hindsight. If she didn't though then it'd get 13 points which wouldn't put it into the veto zone (7 for Popjustice, 3 for Nina recycle, 3 for Feed Me recycle). But you are right the more I think about it the more it would trigger that extra 12, but it wasn't a slam dunk so I thought I'd get some opinions on it!

Bellamia ruining her reputation though :(

i did not know feed me was spor!

RBECKA's Should Have Surrendered is incredible. Probably better than these 5 (ny2)

(actually I support PUZZLE)
