Singles

Warner Bros act Jason Derulo is likely to spend a second week at the top of the singles chart after debuting at number one last Sunday with Don’t Wanna Go Home, while Ministry of Sound act Example’s Changed The Way You Kiss Me remains his closest challenger.

Below it there are only around 200 sales separating Asylum/Atlantic’s Ed Sheeran with The A Team in third place and J/RCA’s Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer in fifth place with Give Me Everything. The week’s top five is completed by Columbia’s Bounce single by Calvin Harris featuring Kelis in fourth place.

Albums

Glastonbury is set to make a significant impact on this coming weekend’s main UK sales charts with Beyonce heading to the top of the albums countdown and all four of fellow headliners Coldplay’s albums returning to the Top 75.

Following her Sunday night headline appearance, Beyonce’s newly-issued fourth RCA-handled solo album 4, has sold around 32,000 units, according to Official Charts Company Data, which is more than the combined sales of its three nearest challengers. These are led by XL act Adele’s 21 and also take in Interscope/Polydor’s Lady GaGa with Born This Way and Adele’s first album 19.

Beyonce is also just outside the new chart week’s 10 top-selling singles with Best Thing I Never Had showing up presently as a new entry at 11, while sales of Run The World (Girls) are 88% up on the week and Irreplaceable is set for a Top 40 return.

Beyonce is joined at this stage of the week by four other brand new albums among the Top10 positions with 14th Floor/Warner Bros act Biffy Clyro’s first-ever live album Revolutionise/Live At Wembley the week’s sixth top artist seller, Warner Bros’s Stevie Nicks album In Your Dreams seventh and B-Unique/Polydor’s new Kaiser Chiefs set The Future Is Medieval placed ninth.

Among those newly-issued albums sits Jessie J whose Island/Lava debut Who You Are is enjoying a 62% weekly sales boost following her Glastonbury set, while sales of fellow Glastonbury act Mumford & Sons’ Gentlemen Of The Road/Island album Sigh No More have tripled and it should return to the Top 20 this Sunday.

Meanwhile, following their headlining Saturday night appearance Coldplay will return in a big way to the albums chart this weekend with A Rush Of Blood To The Head leading a return of all four of their studio albums. Sales of their second Parlophone album are up 2,420% on the week, while sales of Parachutes, X&Y and Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends are also up more than 1,500% on seven days ago.

Their new single Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall is also benefiting. Having dropped out of the Top 40 after just a fortnight last Sunday, it is now the new chart week’s sixth top seller and leads a number of other titles from the band among the top sellers, including Major Minus (17), Moving To Mars (20) and In My Place (32).

Atlantic’s Janelle Monae could crack the Top 40 for the first time with The Archandroid following her own highly-acclaimed Glastonbury set, while other acts who could be heading for Top 40 entries include Columbia’s Foster The People and Decca’s Ludovico Einaudi.

[01] Any member that is caught spamming, or trying to cause an argument to get a reaction will be severely warned with a ban for 7 days from posting on the forum.

[02] This is a mid thread for every artist do not go on and on and on about a certain artist to bring the board into disrepute.

[03] Please be patient when you are asking for a request, as you might not get an answer straight away.

[04] Any member asking for information that isn't in the updates we don't have, always read the topic before you post, I do not want to see questions like Where is Britney? repeated several times on every page of the thread, once is enough, bookmark the page if you don't have time to read all of the topic. Its not that hard.

[05] Do not use BLOCK CAPITALS when posting a sentence its considered as shouting and rude.

[06] Do not use Text Talk.

[07] Do not use a light colour font when posting please its hard to read the topic, not everyone has 100% vision.

[08] Please give a mention to who posted the chart info or the site name where you seen the mid info if you are copying and posting the chart info elsewhere, it takes forever trying to re-edit all the information up for you to see.

[09] Please do not post lists, or sales info unless you are told to by myself or a chart mod, if you do have sales info that you wish to share round them off to the nearest thousand and name your source, do not post precise sales figures.

[10] Regarding chart postions when posted when you see a sum/substraction for example 22+4, 40-7, if you add/subtract both figures together it gives you the actual position for the track. Its just simple addition or substraction. Go Figure.

I'm guessing the top 6 will be all non movers today in the singles chart  as for the album I think Beyonce has got it in the bag for this week.
  • Author
Surely Beyonce will be at least top 6?

Ah... I've only just looked at the iTunes chart this morning didn't know she was #2 already :o In that case she might be sandwiched in the top 6 somewhere.

The Edge Of Glory went #1 on iTunes as well and yet it only came in at #6 :P

maybe tomorrow? I'm looking forward to her album sales more though :w00t:

Beyonce not top 10 is shocking. It was at least number 4 at midnight on iTunes, it was quite hard to tell exactly where though such was the pace and yet isn't top 10. It must have sold next to nothing elsewhere....

Disappointed at how little the Glasto effect is at the top of the albums, shame to see Two Door Cinema Club falling....

Beyonce was only on sale yesterday, all the other songs had Sunday+Monday. She'll be Top 5 by the end of the week.

No, she had one day sales (Monday) whereas every other song in the top 15 had two days sales (Sunday and Monday).

Beyonce was only on sale yesterday, all the other songs had Sunday+Monday. She'll be Top 5 by the end of the week.

But as everyone says iTunes is 48 hours, so surely her being number 4 at midnight means that she's sold more than all bar the top 3 songs over the previous 48 hours, which was the start of Sunday?

How is it 48 hours? Songs move up/down hourly, not every 48 hours.
How is it 48 hours? Songs move up/down hourly, not every 48 hours.

iTunes is a rolling 48 hour chart, meaning the number one right now is the song which has sold most since 11:19 on Sunday morning.

TWO b-sides listed in the top 40, that's a first  I presume that they will be combined into ETIAW and Coldplay will be higher, possibly top 3? :o

:cheer: @ Lady Gaga and Janelle :D

How is Ed Sheeran back to #3? And look at the Coldplay takeover!

Is this Beyonce's first #1 album since Dangerously In Love? I was dangerously annoyed with that album holding Delta's Innocent Eyes at #2 for what seemed like the whole of summer 2003 :(
