#13 isn't too bad for R BEV at all. Considering my expectations before this week were that it would scrape top 30 at best. I am glad it isn't her highest charting album though, we don't need to give her any ideas here that covers albums are in anyway a good idea.

Before the midweeks came out, i expected beverley knight top go top 30 at the very best, but then when i saw her top 10 in the midweeks i had high hopes, while the album has done better than i thought im disapointed she missed the top 10 as she had been there all week in the midweeks, i hope it can manage a steady chart run though, as it sold less than 9,000 copies this week so it needs a steady chart run to build up some decent sales.

Well, at least my preferred version of "Rolling In The Deep" charted higher... annoyed it didn't make top 40.

So the entire top 7 this week were frontloaded/non OA/OS releases? Interesting, that policy seems to have definitely faded quickly out with almost all UK releases now

#8-15 are all OA/OS or album tracks turned singles interestingly, perhaps this will be a common ocurrence now. Steady sellers with lowish peaks in this area and the frontloaded stuff right at the top. Doesn't seem like much of a level playing field but there we go...

If all songs were on air, on sale, then all US top 10s would probably be a frequent occurance. We can't have it both ways really. :(

There would certainly be far less top ten hits of British origin overall, I agree, although the strongest ones would always get there. I'm really mixed about the whole thing anyway. Part of me loves seeing the high sales, high peaks that artists may not have otherwise got and emphatic debuts, but another part of me is irritated that I have to wait 6-8 weeks for an HQ version of a song that I love!

I think the waits we had in the UK for some songs has been absolutely ridiculous. Like I think We R Who We R was held back for over 3 months or something stupid. :drama:

I don't mind if a song is only held back a few weeks though. Plus, we'll always get some climbers, and effectively on air, on sale songs from post-album singles aswell. Although I can't really think of many from British artists which have peaked very high recently (apart from Someone Like You ).

I think Set Fire to the Rain and Till I'm Gone could climb to top 5 peaks in the near future, but I'm not too confident they will now. But I hope they do, at the very least just to show it is still possible.

I guess Do It Like a Dude managed it. It wasn't from an album, but it was a very similar situation.

Also interesting that Jessie J, Adele and Tinie are the ones who've also recently made it big in the US.

Naive? why is that back in?

The same reason loads of other old songs have re-entered. They were reduced to 59p on iTunes. This is about the fourth time that's happened this year. :P

More of the 59p songs than I expected charted in the top 100 :o I thought they'd mostly miss out because they were reduced midweek, but we've got:

21 Notorious

46 Fix You

47 Bring Me To Life

59 If I Were A Boy

65 The Scientist

69 Many Of Horror

73 Easy Please Me

75 Naïve

76 Beat Of My Drum

77 Busy

87 Son Of A Preacher Man

88 Drop It Like It's Hot

91 Common People

94 Zombie

95 Somebody Told Me

97 Shine A Light

98 Eyes Wide Shut

Some very welcome entries and equally some very unwelcome ones. Full top 100 updates coming soon.

So ALL of these songs re-entered just cos they've been reduced to 59p and for no other reason?

Help please !! I keep hearing a song called Jar of Hearts on radio by Christina Perri but cn't find her listed in the charts (inc iTunes) so guessed its not released yet but couldn't find it in the release shedule. Does anyone know whether the song has been officially released ? And if so I'm very surprised its not charted. Lack of publicity/air-play I guess.

Or maybe it is there and my eyesight is worse than I thought !!

Apart from Notorious and Easy Please Me which were charting anyway, yes. (Although Fix You and The Scientist are just climbing rather than re-entering, as they re-entered last week with the Glastonbury effect)

Beyoncé is now up to 100 weeks in the top 100 with I Am... Sasha Fierce. I'm surprised Lovett hasn't picked up on this!

91 R 14 Pulp Common People

92 51 60 Coldplay Viva La Vida

^ Just noticed that my fave song from the 90s and 00s are both re-entries this week next to each other ^_^
