Wait a minute... Leona Lewis attempting dance-pop? :o :o :o Wow! I wasn't expecting that, I hope it's good - but it could go either way and she could really mess it up like Beyonce.

Sandy Vee and Autumn Rowe (she wrote the Alexis Jordan singles) have both been hyping this track up as "huge" etc. Obviously every producer will hype up their own work but I just have a great feeling about this. 'Firework' would have suited Leona down to the ground!

Their are rumours all over Twitter that the single premiere isn't far away now and that reporter saying it is to be released in early August has got me excited! :w00t:

4th #1 please!

Um, no offense, but wasn't it Stargate who did Only Girl, S&M, Firework, and Alexis Jordan's songs (well, we REALLY know it was deadmau5 who made Happiness, but you know )?

It could be good though. I love Only Girl, Firework and Hush Hush.

Why would I get offended?

Sandy Vee works with StarGate 90% of the time and co-produced and co-wrote OG(ITW), 'Firework' and 'S&M', along with StarGate.

And yeah I know StarGate produced Alexis Jordan's singles, hence why I said Autumn Rowe wrote them. :P

I love StarGate - they're one of my favourite producers ever. Without them Rihanna's Loud era wouldn't have been as successful as it was, OG(ITW) and S&M are both great pieces of dance-pop, and Firework is an anthem (the strings bring the instrumental on a whole new level - I'm sure Eric will agree :)) You could say the same thing for OG, except it has dance-synths instead of strings. As for S&M, the instrumental doesn't need to epic because the lyrics make the song as good as it is

[***] 230| Robyn - Call Your Girlfriend

 A bit strange to see this flop as it's Scott Mills' record of the week. Robyn isn't that great, but she doesn't deserve to flop this hard with a half-alright song. It's better than 'Dancing On My Own', which somehow made T10.

Thing is, Stargate produced most of Rihanna's well-known songs I think, like What's My Name? and Unfaithful for example, which aren't dance-pop. And looking at what they produced for other artists, they've done some like Irreplaceable, Scandalous, With You and even the epic Black and Yellow (not that Only Girl and Firework aren't epic of course ), so if she's working with them (or working with someone who works with them) it doesn't mean she's doing dance-pop, even if that's what most of their recent hits are.

I think the fact that Capital played Dancing On My Own every 30 minutes for 2 months before its release might've been part of the reason it managed to go top 10.

It's not really flopping, airplay has only just started for it. Give it some time.

True. But with Scott Mills having it as his ROTW I was expecting it to be a bit higher, in time I think CYG could reach T40 - with R1 supporting her again - but there's a chance she'll only scrape the T75 and lose all relevance that she had.

I thought I'd check the iTunes positions of a completely random selection of songs:

64. Space Bound - I hope this can get top 40 officially one day.

135. Love the Way You Lie - I think I'll cry the first time this falls out of the top 100. Probably happen by early 2012.

207. I Need a Doctor - This always makes me cry.

273. Not Afraid - Seems like a top 300 staple. Hardly ever see it not in there.

284. Lose Yourself

577. When I'm Gone - Another tearjerker. Heart wrenching.

619. No Love   This has been top 1000 for over a year now, despite only peaking at #33.

705. Drop the World - Also been top 1000 for well over a year, despite a low peak.

773. Like To Soldiers

775. Won't Back Down :puke:

788. The Real Slim Shady

790. Mockingbird - I'll always love Cher for performing this on X Factor.

876. Forever - I was whining that this fell out of the top 1000 the other day, but it's back!!! :cheer:

904. Without Me

906. Stan - Some may be surprised to know this isn't regularly in the top 1000! :o

992. Lose Yourself

Scouting For Girls and David Guetta are probably gonna push Adele and Nicki Minaj down a place again  :drama:

Scouting for Girls will start dropping soon and Guetta will most likely stall and start to drop, it dosen't have the same buzz as Where Dem Girls At. I really think Nicki should come over to the Uk and perform on Alan Carr & Lorraine or something which would push her into the top 10.

If David Guetta follows the trend of his previous 4 releases, he'll peak during his 3rd to 5th day after release. So on that basis I think he'll climb into the top 10 tommorrow or on Wednesday.

Yeah, I was joking.

Yeah. It's video was finally released a few weeks ago I think. I was thinking there wasn't going to be any more singles from the album since No Love didn't do very well (in the US, it actually charted higher on the album's release week from cherry-pickings than it did when released as a single after being sent to radio and being given a music video a few months later, which is quite dreadful when you think about it! :o).

Not sure if now was a good time to release it though, since it's clashing with the two Bad Meets Evil singles.
