It sums up the sorry state of the music industry. I can understand Adele, but BEPs puh-lease.

I think there's just a lack of any good new songs. I've noticed a lot of really old songs are climbing. Love the Way You Lie, for example, is just outside of the top 100 again now. Or maybe the sales of all the new songs are dropping, so the older songs with more stable sales are just climbing by default. Or maybe the weekend effect this week is just really weird.

After the Super Bowl in the US earlier this year, I Gotta Feeling went back to #11 on their iTunes! :o Maybe people delete the song but realize they still like it so they have to buy it again.

I Gotta Feeling's peak positions from the weekend effect the last few weekends have been:

#92

#79

#89

#84

#89

#87

#77

So it varies a lot anyway.

That's crazy! :o Imagine Party Rock Anthem being that high on iTunes mid-2013! :o

She Makes Me Wanna is such a terrible song though. They should save releasing it, and everybody who wants to buy the song can just go and buy More by Usher, or Dirty Dancer by Enrique Iglesias. And I like JLS, but I think The Club is Alive was better.

its like deja vu with pop groups like jls - each july release a new single(upbeat) then follow up with a ballad in november with an xfactor performance and take advantage of the xmas market then a 3rd single in feb - but as each year goes by their popularity wanes and the songs get worse!!

Also I Gotta Feeling up to #76! :o Come on, it was released 2 years ago!! :drama:

You'll be surprised how much airplay on music channels this still gets. I was watching a few minutes of This Weeks Most Played Top 20 on MTV Dance (iirc) earlier today and 'On The Floor' was #9 on the countdown. 'I Gotta Feeling' was #8!!! :drama: I actually sighed when the video came on. Then again, I actually have seen the video to 'IGF' a few times over the last couple of days.

Maybe this has contributed in its sales boost? :D

^ Yeah, I don't watch MTV much, but sometimes I watch it at night when I'm bored, and I often see it.

I quite like late-night MTV actually, because they often play those old songs which they never play on the radio anymore (i.e. old songs which have autotune and/or rapping in, so most BEP songs, etc.).

I haven't even heard this JLS single. Is it bad?

I hate it personally. But I dunno, you could like it. If you like Yeah 3x, More, Dirty Dancer, etc. you might like it. It's like a more mainstream version of The Club is Alive.

You may not like She Makes Me Wanna, but I don't really know how you can say their not deserving of #1 because of how much work they put in

How do you even know how much time/effort each group put in?

at the end of the day the quality of music matters not the time spent on it :D

Well, it's a release pattern that's worked so far - it's given them 4 #1s and 2 other high selling top 10 hits. Why stop now? Plus it looks like She Makes Me Wanna will probably be bigger than The Club Is Alive anyway.

Someone Like You now up to #24  overtaking blink-182. Could climb again on next week's chart. :D

You imply that TCIA isn't very mainstream. Just because it's a $h!t song, it doesn't mean it's not mainstream. In fact, it probably is mainstream because it's $h!t. :kink:

It's less mainstream because it uses so much autotune. Radio stations are reluctant to play autotuned songs.

JLS said the song was based on OMG anyway, which obviously wasn't, um, the most mainstream song.

Capital Fm are actually playing Pixie's new single so much! Heard it 3 times in 2hours!

:o I'm surprised at that, but quite pleased. They never played Broken Arrow. Well, I'm wrong, I was listening to Capital once, and Pixie turned up unannounced at the studio, and the presenter was all like "Wow! Pixie Lott has just randomly turned up! How amazing!", and Pixie offered to do a short interview, and then straight after she gave them Broken Arrow to play, which they did, and then I never heard it on there again. :(

I don't think I've ever heard them play a song 3 times in 2 hours before! :o People will send in complaints if they keep doing that. Although I've heard them play the same artists twice in the space of 1 hour before, but it's been different songs.

Broken Arrow was very radio one friendly but wasn't supported by any othe radio stations. All About Tonight I think will be heavily supported by radio's especially if Capital Fm are playing it now it a month and a half before the release. They were reading out that it's been heavily asked for (All About Tonight).

Maybe that's why they're playing it. Because it's being requested so much. I haven't listened to Capital much at night in a few months now, but you used to be able to request songs on Twitter, Facebook, or by text. Sometimes people requested specific remixes of songs to play aswell.

Blink-182 are back up to 23 :D

Also; second 'Super Bass' is up to #135

8 Katy Perry/ Last Friday Night (T,G.I.F)

50 Chase & Status & Tinie Tempah/ Hitz

77 Birdy/ Shelter

86 Laidback Luke & Steve Aoki ft Lil Jon/ Turbuelence (Radio Edit)

87 Chipmunk ft Trey Songz/ Take Off

129 Magnetic Man/ Anthemic

184 Chase & Status/ Hitz (Wretch 32 Re-Mix)

369 Wolf Gang/ The King and All of His Men

437 Beady Eye/ The Beat Goes On

694 Chase & Status ft Tinie Tempah/ Hitz (Single Version)

#10-#8, really even #10-#6 are so close. If Adele could go to #10 she's shoot to top 5 with ease. But she's quite far from #10 :(

Pixie Lott's new video out on TV already, isnt it out in September? So early! :o
