I know this is Wikipedia, and it doesn't give a source for this, but it says will.i.am is going to produce/has produced for 2NE1: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will.i.am_pro...iscography#2NE1

That could be why they have a BEP-sounding song.

It says he produced two songs for a Japanese group called SMAP aswell.

Can't Nobody was one of their first singles, he probably heard that and then really liked their stuff and asked to produce them. They're working on a debut album for the US market (ie an English album) so expect an all female Black Eyed Peas hitting the charts soon

That would be awesome! :D It's quite appropriate aswell, since the BEPs are going on another hiatus now.

Just as LFN was surely a future #1. :(

That's true. :( Although I think Lighters has much more of a chance, since it is #2 on iTunes on airplay alone. Last Friday Night was nowhere near that high until it got a music video.

Kind of O/T but interestingly only one Korean group has ever made the Hot 100, and that was Wonder Girls with Nobody which got to 70something. Hopefully 2NE1 go way higher!

Good point about the video. It'll be number one without a doubt when that drops.

In other news, Marvin's Room down to #16??

Drake down to #18 now. A shame he missed the top 10. I thought it would easily get there, since there was so much talk about the song. Although I don't think it's his first proper single from the album, so it's not too bad, I guess.

It's a shame it's been only one, but at the same time, I'm not surprised. 2NE1 could get higher i guess, if they get a will.i.am-produced song, and the lyrics are in English, I don't see why they couldn't. Like a G6 got to #1 last year, and that was also by a BEP-esque asian (although they are American aswell) group.

Poor Drake. :nocheer:

It's like "Over" all over again...

What happened with Over? :(

Marvin's Room didn't do as well as I was expecting, but I wouldn't worry too much, since I don't even think it's an official single. His first single is apparently called Headlines. And I'm sure the album will get to #1 again.

I Wanna Go #6 now, it's doing f***in' well without any promotion WOW!

and this is first time that Britney will have 3 top 10 hits from an album. :D

I hope Back To Black manages to get to no.1 officially.

It's not going to happen

It's not going to happen

I think he meant the album, which also probably won't happen but is also a hell of a lot more likely than the single :P

damn she doing so good fro her standards!

Shame on you for having low standards for Britney

me? lol not me

she never had third single in top 10 in usa, it's shame on them.. but it seems that thing is changing in this new decade.

It's been changing ever since Blackout tbh, pre-blackout, her singles don't usually even go top 10  (excluding her two huge successful periods ofc)

iTunes Popularity Bars

It's literally maddening seeing Katy this close to the 5th #1. I can close to promise that when PRA finally drops, TGIF will drop with it, and the record will be lost...

To be fair, Britney would have even more top 10 hits or even number ones if all her singles from BOMT and Oops - Sometimes, OIDIA (which reached #9), Lucky - had been released as commercial singles.

The history of Hot 100 would be a lot different if airplay-only tracks would've been allowed to chart in the 90s and if the biggest single sellers would've keep releasing commercial singles in the early noughties.

But the world is full of ifs..you just have to remember that chart success doesn't always reflect the song's popularity.
