SLY held off of number one by... Foster the People? This is like a strange bizarro would where the entire top 10 is songs I've known and loved before they became popular over here. (except MLJ and How to Love, sorta. I knew both before they boosted into the top 10)

 

FTP for a week at number 1 officially before Adele starts her inevitable 4 month or so reign.

Another Billboard Hot 100 #1? That would just be incredible, off such a huge album! :o

 

Rolling in the Deep also up about 7 places to #13! Just to add to the mahoosive sales already!

The whole performance just came off so attention whorish. Not to mention I just hate that song.

 

Beyonce does seems to grab the extra factor that she has to announce it at the VMAs, not to mention it's one of the most popular music shows globally and hence all the attention focused on her. Was a bit attention whorish as Tyler said and I agree.

 

If Adele makes a video for Someone Like You.... it will start to rise in the UK again even though it has sold enough..

Adele is so close to the top! I hope she can get there but I fear she will run out of steam. Also Cobra Starship could easily jump into the top 5. Am I right in thinking the VMA performance didn't help Yoü and I that much?

It's looking like Adele is going to repeat what she did here with 'Someone Like You', making a mediocre place in the chart with it before performing on an awards show and shooting into the Top 5. SO PLEASED.

That's got to be the best top 2 in an absolute AGE.

FINALLY number one. Best top 10 in a LONG time.

Really pleased for Adele :) Hopefully airplay will help her get her second BB#1

I agree. What a fantastic chart the US has atm! Even the UK's is quite good aswell.

 

And the Lil Wayne/Bruno Mars song is fast approaching the top 10 aswell! :o Quite appropriately, since Lighters has just left. :lol:

 

And I find it so funny that Beyonce gets top 10 with an album track, but couldn't with Best Thing I Never Had. :lol:

Beyonce has used that pregnancy in VMA as a good way to gain publicity and hopefully she can finally get a Billboard Hot 100 top 10 with Love On Top :)

I don't think Beyonce has that much momentum going to gain herself a top 3, the VMA effect should be over by around tomorrow.
