Still silly. Leona's fanbase is huge, and a lot bigger then the likes of Pixie, Saturdays or Sugababes cant argue against it, (not that I have anything against any of them btw), its just an observation of how they've all done. Leona's sold more then all of them added together, proves my point. Regardless of saying 'Oh she performed on The X Factor' :wacko: *yawns* its called promotion, which many if not ALL artists do. :wacko:

 

Fanbases don't really matter these days though in single terms. U2 probably have one of (if not the biggest) fanbases in the world, yet if their new single was out it would not be #1! Leona will probably sell more albums than all the other artists mentioned in the title, but I'd be very very surprised if Collide is #1 or even challenging for #1 for that matter. Too many people have got fan goggles on and can't see the bigger picture.

 

Ed Sheeran and Example will be the ones to beat first. I don't think either of them will not be in the Top 3 the following week after their release. If any song is going to get to #1 out of the songs mentioned then it's Pixie Lott. And I think she will do. How is over exposure a bad thing? I can't think of anything better when you're launching a new era lol. Pixie's so far ahead at the moment in airplay/promotion etc. that it's going to be extremely hard for the others to catch up. Radio 1 will not playlist Collide anything higher than B-list. I expect a lot of radio stations are wary about playlisting it because of the lawsuit against Collide.

Yeah, I see what you mean. But for the purpose of chart statistics, they count as the same.

 

And I agree with you that Leona probably does have a larger fanbase. But at the same time, that doesn't mean she's guaranteed to sell more. There's other factors such as the promotion of the song, the quality of the song, etc. to take into account.

 

Also, I'm going on a bit of a tangent here, but if Avicii prevents Leona from releasing the song, wouldn't she just release a different song instead?
