SUPER BASS

NICKI MINAJ

(CASH MONEY/ISLAND)

That would be its top 200 total - you could say it has 12 weeks in the chart I guess, if you define 'the chart' as the top 200 :P

I'm surprised it only had 1 week top 200 before it started its top 100 run :o I recall it being quite high on iTunes for quite a while before promotion started

I don't remember Super Bass being high on iTunes at all actually. Although the song was quite hyped up, but I think the only of Nicki's tracks that charted top 200 on the album release week were Roman's Revenge and Fly (which is due to re-enter soon! :D).

EDIT: Or maybe Super Bass was released later than the rest of the album?

Super Bass wasn't on the album when it was originally released, the 'Super Bass edition' (with Girls Fall Like Dominoes and Super Bass tacked on the end) was released then it was on there. I think anyway, because it was available somehow on iTunes and it was top 100 then top 40 after a few days iirc.

It was only on the Deluxe Edition - but I don't know if that was released after the original or not. It wasn't available on the physical version of the album at all until they re-released it physically under a new 'Super Bass Edition' - which literally only added Super Bass

I think the 'Super Bass Edition' was just a physical thing and Super Bass/Girls Fall Like Dominoes were both available on a 'Deluxe Edition' which had been released digitally much earlier. I may be wrong though.

But anyhow, I'm sure I remember seeing Super Bass somewhere in the iTunes top 200 much longer than 1 week before its chart run started, regardless of when it became available. Maybe that's just my memory being stupid though.

lol. Oh dear. How confusing. Everything about this era for Nicki has been so confusing tbh. Especially earlier on, when she released like 3 songs at the same time. Bless.
I don't think Super Bass was available in the UK until the single release, well I got Pink Friday on release week but I couldn't find SB on any version so I don't think it was. Not sure about the circumstances regarding the actual release when it had a week inside the top 200 but outside the top 100.

what other sites is there apart from livepopbars.com or is that the only one?

livepopbars.com may be quite a bit behind a lot of the time but it's still the only accurate reflection of the iTunes chart that anyone's ever found online.

Great to see Ed back up to #3 :D But again he won't overtake DJ Fresh officially simply because of how many versions Fresh has (and he has another one this week from Now! 79 - Ed does as well but his is lower than Fresh's).

Ed will probably end up #4 this week, as Amy is falling, which would give him a chart run of 3-5-6-3-3-3-4. He'll probably be at 4 or 5 again next week also depending on if JLS do plummet or not (I don't think they will so I think 5 is more likely - so 3-5-6-3-3-3-4-5 :o). He could actually beat LMFAO's top 10 weeks! He'd be a far better record-holder than Pitbull.

Whether or not Pitbull makes it to 13 weeks top 10 depends entirely on whether it manages to survive Cher entering the top 10. I think he probably could actually survive it. But I'd like Ed to make it to 13+ top 10 weeks too :P

Super Bass was available to download for months prior to it becoming a single, I'm pretty certain of that. The digital album had 5 additional bonus tracks, including Super Bass.
I'm so happy Benny Benassi's Cinema is not flopping that much. It's currently at #72. Better rise today or I will be crazy. ^_^

I'll just add to the discussion. I got 'Pink Friday' in November 2010 physically, with no evidence of 'Girls Fall Like Dominoes' or 'Super Bass'. Those two tracks were added to the digital version later on, I bought [GFLD] after hearing Scott Mills play it on R1 and [sB] once confirmation of the music video began spreading.

I think releasing [GFLD] was a bad idea - in that it had no music video and the only sales were selected digital stores (i.e. iTunes and Amazon). Saying that, it managed a peak of #22 - the same as 'Moment 4 Life' ft. Drake - which had a video.

10 Calvin Harris - Bounce (ft Kelis) 0.247092

11 Nicki Minaj - Super Bass 0.239380

12 ADELE - Set Fire To The Rain 0.228009

Come on Nicki!! So close!!!

Could Nicki actually crack the T10 next week? Currently Katy Perry is #10 in the UK, so until Perry overtakes Harris - Minaj is likely to stall at #11.

It peaked a little lower than that - #24. Stayed in the Top 75 for 7 weeks, while Moment 4 Life managed 11 weeks.

Nicki is even closer!

I don't recall her ever being within 10% of the #10 track, so with her bar at 97% of the #10 bar, this is the closest she's ever got to getting into the top 10; the reduction to 79p is absolutely, 100% helping so she will definitely do it today.

That was a bit of an error from me last night, damned iPhone, although actually looking back at what I wrote, it definitely is 100%, that booty is a fine piece of meat
