And more recently they've included non-rap versions of Price Tag and On The Floor for some reason - might not be label-related but rather odd anyway! Especially as they did use the (flop) rap version of Bright Lights Bigger City.

On Now 65 they had Beyonce's De Ja Vu without Jay Z, but Now 56 had the version of Crazy In Love with Jay Z's rapping included

Also another bad edit by Now was on Now 70 where they had Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown No Air, but edited out the intro, and went straight to the vocals, same with Smack That on Now 66 by Akon.

Same thing happens with Lady Gaga's Born This Way on the new Now 79, awful editing at the start of the song, jumps straight in at verse one :/

None of these compare to some of the woeful edits on the Hits albums, namely 50 and 51 and Huge Hits 2003 where they tried to cram on 50 songs. They did this by fading a lot of songs out after two and a half minutes...

As for J.Lo, I'm yet to see any compilation use the single version of On The Floor. Clubland 19, Now 79, a few R&B compilations, even my imported Swedish comp Absolute Summer Hits 2011 all feature her solo version - so whatever licensing issues there are with it must stretch further than the UK. Likewise Price Tag, I have that on a few compilations from various countries - always the Jessie solo version.

Bizarrely 'Nothing Compares 2 U' which was no. 1 before those two mentioned above was tracklisted on Now! 18 instead.

They've held back huge selling songs for the Christmas release a few times. Hit Me Baby One More Time and Pure Shores were also held back. I think Tragegy from Steps was held back too.

This also happened

REM - Everybody Hurts - Now 25

REM - The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite - Now 26

Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger - Now 33

Oasis - Wonderwall - Now 34

Where they include a single and on the next release they include the previous single.

I don't mind Cee Lo appearing because I like the track. His album is still selling and in the top 20 so that could be why it was included. I assume that's why the cave made Now 77 9 months and 2 Nows after charting.
Now 45 includes the Artful Dodger's Re-Rewind and Movin' Too Fast made the cut, but for some strange reason they never included Woman Trouble, Think About Me, Twenty Four Seven or Please Don't Turn Me On, even though they all made Top 10 except Think about me, which made number 11, so still would of been big enough.

I have another question, when the now albums are release why do some singles then race up the i-tunes chart again?

Why do people purchase off the now albums instead of buying the actual single?

Think About Me was on a Hits album

As were all of the other Artful Dodger singles, perhaps they lost the licence to their music? It could have been a conscious decision though, certainly there were enough hits back then to have a huge pick when it came to compiling the albums - maybe 50/60 top ten hits to pick from for each one and then any other decent/big songs that missed the top ten.

Dusty Springfield 'You don't have to say you love me' NOW 42

John Lennon 'Imagine' NOW 45

Dead Or Alive 'You spin round me (like a record)' NOW 63 (it's the original version that was featured)

Phil Collins 'In the air tonight' NOW 67
