July 27, 201115 yr Bon Iver? Am I hallucinating or what? They supported Calgary and Bon Iver are a very R1-friendly band, of course they were going to support Holocene :P Edited July 27, 201115 yr by Bré
July 27, 201115 yr NORGAARD! Fantastic stuff, it's a splendid track, the best on their album. Pity it won't chart, as everyone who would want it already has it, and all those who didn't got it for free on iTunes in January.
July 27, 201115 yr I wonder if they'll playlist Pixie Lott, Saturdays or Leona! :o They seem to be very anti-female pop lately for whatever reason. Shame to see they've snubbed Dev, when 'In The Dark' is so much better than 'Bass Down Low'.

Shame to see they've snubbed Dev, when 'In The Dark' is so much better than 'Bass Down Low'. I'm sure they will do. Example, Ed and Fixers are all released the week before they are and only get added today so they'll probably all be on next week or the week after.
July 27, 201115 yr I've been hearing the Bon Iver song pretty much every day on Radio 1 recently, so I'm not that surprised by it being added.
July 29, 201115 yr A-listing Red Hot Chilli Peppers and the Strokes isn't going to do much for their sales - although it's nice to hear something different on the radio. Really pleased to see them supporting Emeli Sande, it's been a long awaited debut single and I think it could debut well within the T40. Wretch 32 ft. Josh Kumra 'Don't Go' on the A-list! :) Irritated to see Two Door climbing, when it's a mistake - they can keep playing the song, but they'll be no re-release of the single. But the B-list now welcomes Tinie Tempah and Arctics - so it's all good. Bon Iver C-listed, wow.
July 29, 201115 yr No Will Young -_- But he's A-listed on Radio 2 :cheer: Looking at the list here is it any wonder I prefer R2? Caro Emerald! Take That! Danny! Darren Hayes!
July 29, 201115 yr They add Joe Jonas but not Pixie Lott? Pixie isn't released for over a month. I'm sure they will playlist her.
July 31, 201115 yr great to see them hold off alisting SJ until it gets to no1 next week ...you know they hate it and dont want to support it too much... good editions this week - that wretch 32 songs is his best yet - should be no1!! dont worry about leona, pixie and those pop artists they hold off playlisting them until 3/4 weeks before release as they know they dont need any help getting to the top 10,im much happier hearing and having them support bands like fixers and bon ivor!!
July 31, 201115 yr Well, Radio 1 was pretty much the only major radio station that supported Broken Arrow. And I'm not sure how Leona's song will do. Apparently some radio stations are just playing Avicii's original whenever someone requests Leona's song! :o
July 31, 201115 yr but that was when pixie was relatively unknown and it was her first album...shes mainstream now!
July 31, 201115 yr but that was when pixie was relatively unknown and it was her first album...shes mainstream now! No, Broken Arrow was her 6th single, and from a re-release of her album. By then she'd already had 2 #1s, and 5 top 20 hits, so she was well established by the time she released Broken Arrow. If anything, she's probably less known now than she was when Broken Arrow was released. It's been quite a long time since she's had a hit. I agree that Radio 1 doesn't need to playlist songs like All Night Long and Start Without You. The former got to #1 on the radio airplay chart without Radio 1's help, and the latter obviously got less radio airplay, since it's much less mainstream, but it still got #1 officially (much to Chris Moyles's dismay ). So both of those songs could cope without Radio 1. Pixie, after what happened with her last couple of singles, could do with Radio 1 support though. And about Swagger Jagger, I don't think it'll go A-List at all. I don't think everybody at Radio 1 hates the song. Scott Mills seems to like it a lot. But I think they're aware that a very high proportion of their audience hate the song, so I think it won't go A-List for that reason. Same with Justin Bieber's recent songs too.
