It's weird that Leona isn't getting much airplay yet. I would've thought she'd have the most out of them all so far. Her fans should request it on their radio stations. I Got You and Happy got played a lot, so I'm sure she'll get support eventually.

I've heard Leona twice and Pixie and The Sats zero times. Although, I only listen to the radio occassionally and if one of my favourite artists are premiering a single. :kink:

There's been a lot of drama with 'Collide' revolving around plagiarism claims etc so that might be why radio haven't touched the track much. Only Radio 2 and Heat radio are playing it quite a bit atm. I'm surprised Capital haven't played it at least once. In my opinion, it's a thousand times better than both Pixie's and The Sats' latest singles.

The plagiarism claims might be hurting it, I guess (although that's stupid, becuase it's clearly not plagiarism, but whatever), but I'm sure other songs involved in similar things got good play on the radio, like Eyes Wide Shut and Yeah 3x (which actually could've been plagiarism, in these cases ).

How is it 'clearly not plagiarism'? They took Avicii's song and didn't tell him or his label about it. That is 100% plagiarism

More to the point, how is that the truth?

Surely if that was the case, Syco would have pulled the song from being released. Despite their inefficiencies, I doubt Syco are stupid enough to be unaware about the plagiarism laws. Leona also wouldn't have been filming the video for 'Collide' over the past few days if Leona, Autumn and Sandy simply plagiarised Avicii's song.

The only bit that Leona sampled from Avicii's song was the part that Avicii took from the Penguin Cafe Orchestra.

Ummm, no? 'Collide' is basically just Avicii's song with her wailing over it!

She hasn't sampled it, it IS Avicii's song, there's no denying that. Of course, I'm sure we'll never really know what happened (obviously one party involved is lying...with one saying they got permission to use it and the other saying they gave no such permission).

Either way, does it really matter? THE WORLD GOES ON PEOPLE.

Avicii said on twitter that he didn't know about the use of the sample, so the plagiarism claims are valid

I'm aware of what the songs sound like. I'm quite interested in instrumentals of songs.

No. It's not proper plagiarism, in the sense that they did ask for permission to use it, they just didn't ask the right people.

Yeah 3x could've been plagiarism, becase they tried to use it in secret, hoping nobody would notice. They didn't ask anybody for permission to use it. The Leona's management clearly weren't trying to do that.

It's like if a teacher asks you to do an assignment, and you do it, but then you give it in to the wrong teacher, and then you're accused of not doing your assignment. It seems a bit unfair.

And your evidence for this is...? Both Ministry of Sound and Avicii himself have said they did not know about the use of the song.

Example posted a link to an article on Twitter, which I read, and it said that.

A proper example of plagiarism could be something like The Time by the Black Eyed Peas, or Stereo Love by Edward Maya.

Example replied to me on twitter  I told him i'd sponser him if he shut up on twitter for a day! He replied saying impossibile. I love when celebrties reply to you on twitter. (SoundGirl,PixieLott - They Follow me) UnaHealy,TheSaturdays,WeLovePop,NoelHunt, Rachel Shenton!

Basically, if you want Example to reply to you on Twitter, you have to insult him. It seems most of the people he replies to are people than insults him, and then he says something borderline-witty to show that he doesn't care.

I've heard All About Tonight once, and it was today I heard it

When anyone (at my local station) requests in 'Collide', they play the Avicii song (can't think of the name right now!)

Just to compare views on Youtube :

Leona Lewis: Collide - 440,590 views - Uploaded 2 Weeks Ago

The Saturdays: All Fired Up - 126,631 - Uploaded 1 Week Ago

But Pixie is trashing them both with 1,139,952 views in 2 Weeks! :D

It's called Penguin, btw.

Also bear in mind, that Leona is famous all around the world, so she'll be getting more interest from the US, Europe, etc. Not many people elsewhere know Pixie Lott or The Saturdays (although Tinchy Stryder likes them both :kink:).

The arguments/discussions in here bore me f***ing rigid. I just don't get it.

This this this!

Oh, and I've heard:

Pixie Lott - All About Tonight - 5 times

Saturdays - All Fired Up - 2 times

Leona Lewis - Collide - 0 times

So, it shows how relevant Leona is these days, dosen't it? -_- (expects Karma & SceneOfSixCrimes to rant against me...)

To be fair, these songs haven't been in existance for long. So the one that's played the least so far could easily be the most played in the long run.
at the end of the day, its only early days, check radio plays at the end of August and we may have a better idea about how airplay will affect it

So how come I've heard AFU more than Collide, when AFU premired a week after Collide? -_-

BTW, I do love Leona Lewis(), but if she came back with a #63 flop, I bet all you guys would say it was a massive hit. ;)
