Posted March 20, 200619 yr found this on Dotmusic.com i wonder if those are the figures on sunday X-Factor finalists Journey South and Andy Abraham are battling it out for the number one album this Sunday. Both acts released their debut records - in time for Mother's Day - and they are flying off the shelves. Journey South are just ahead in the race for the number one spot with their self-titled album, while former binman Andy is in second place with The Impossible Dream. Woolworths music boss Jim Batchelor said: "Journey South have got off to a good start and look set to smash the 175,000 mark in their first week of sales. "But Andy has also sold well and there's only a couple of hundred CDs in it. The race to be number one will go down to the wire. "With Mother's Day around the corner, you couldn't have picked two better albums to appeal to mums. If you're a mum, expect to be unwrapping either Journey South or Andy Abraham albums on Sunday morning." Sales at HMV have also been brisk and a spokesman said the two acts are on course for the number one and number two spots. Journey South - Middlesbrough brothers Carl and Andy Pemberton - and London binman Andy were runners-up to Shayne Ward in the last series of The X-Factor. Shayne's debut album is released next month.
March 20, 200619 yr Oh dear Oh dear. Its like the whole G4 thing again! I would prefer Journey South to make Number 1 though, out of the two.
March 20, 200619 yr Great stuff, we find out tomorrow, who comes out on top, I would prefer Journey South at No.1
March 20, 200619 yr Well at least we are going to have good sales as a consolation ;) True! I bet loads of mums will be taking back their presents, though next Monday!

March 20, 200619 yr I hope singles pick up a bit as well! Yeah hope so, think they should with Ne*Yo being out, just hope too many people haven't already downloaded it!
March 20, 200619 yr I LOVED the last series of X-Factor but these two artists just bore the hell outta me!! where on earth has Brenda gone?? She was easily the most talented out of the whole lot!! It's a shame shayne had to be so sexy as to get the teen vote lol
March 20, 200619 yr I can assure you I won't be buying either of those two albums - bloody moneyspinners with 90% + of crap covers.
March 20, 200619 yr should be Beverley thats flying off the shelves but... You're damn right Bev's album is amazing, everyone go and buy it :cheer:
March 21, 200619 yr If those sales are true, then both are selling really well, good luck to them. But with the tour only just over I suppose it was to be expected, Steve waited far too long last year with his album release. Be interesting to see how many Shayne will sell.
March 24, 200619 yr Author journey south were on "Loose woman" and they said they had sold 300,000 :o [ they were presented with a platinum disc] dont know if this is what has been shipped or whats been sold
March 24, 200619 yr journey south were on "Loose woman" and they said they had sold 300,000 :o [ they were presented with a platinum disc] dont know if this is what has been shipped or whats been sold  Certifications are based on copies shipped. They probably have shipped that many more to stores this week. Simon Cowell and ITV generally have a habit of inflating these figures. You're right not to take your sales figures from Loose Women
