Just one new entry today, the remix of Katy Perry's current single 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)' featuring Missy Elliott (that's a blast from the past there) which makes a slightly belated entrance at #99. Rihanna ('S&M' feat. Britney Spears) and Britney Spears ('Till The World Ends' feat. Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha) have used this trick before to slightly better reception, the former going top 10 on UK iTunes and #1 in the US and the latter also going top 5 in the US. It's the song's third entry in the top 100, the album version dropping from 20 to 21 today and the Now! 79 version dropping from 60 to 66. Today's re-entries come from Shakira feat. Freshlyground ('Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)', #78 - and it's full price this time!), Bombay Bicycle Club ('Shuffle', #92), Bruno Mars ('Just The Way You Are', #96) and The Notorious B.I.G. feat. P. Diddy, Nelly, Jagged Edge and Avery Storm ('Nasty Girl', #100). Bob Marley & The Wailers, Paul Weller, Jay-Z, Enrique Iglesias and Chris Brown have entries dropping out to accommodate the 5 top 100 entries.

Still cannot get over Christina Perri being #2 on iTunes. The debut single was set to flop in the UK following its usage on the Glee episode - I bought it that week, thinking it'd at least get T40 - but it didn't even manage that feat.

Swagger Jagger has exceeded most of our expectations. #8 is the position we thought it would be in this time last week.

 

David Guetta should climb up to #8 soon though. He needs to be #7 for a chance of getting top 10 officially next week, since Emeli, Wretch 32 and Bruno Mars are sure to knock out #8 to #10.

 

Set Fire to the Rain doesn't have a music video I think, but MTV are still playing it, so it is getting rotation, which is the most important thing.

 

I really think Adele and her managers are hoping to go down the "Look how amazing we are, we can get hits without MTV" route...

 

The Last Friday Night remix is decent imo, but completely rips off Till the World Ends.
