Fly :wub: It seems very love/hate, seeing as it got lots of 10s but 5 and lower scores!

The hate for 'Fly' on this forum is completely baffling :lol: ('Raining Men' I can sort of get but I still think that's amazing) It's very mainstream and Nicki delivers in her verses and Rihanna's hook is arguably one of the best hooks on the album. She sings it very well too.

 

Were people expecting something like a 'Hard' type song considering who is involved with it, but were essentially disappointed when they found out it was actually a mid-tempo?

I do like 'Fly' quite alot but I expected something so much stronger from a Nicki Minaj & Rihanna collab - the chorus is also kinda lacklustre imo. I actually prefer 'Raining Men' over it.

Personally, the reason I dislike the song is the lackluster verses combined with one of Rihanna's undeniably weakest choruses. Admittedly, the beat isn't bad at all, it slightly reminds me of Owl City in the beginning, but that chorus is just incredibly lacking. Rihanna is capable of bringing much more to a feature, see Run This Town and Live Your Life. At the same time, though, the verses are lacking as well. The first verse especially is one of the worst on the album, followed by the second verse where she begins by rhyming "in" with "in" three times. It just felt like she wasn't anywhere near her A-game on the song, and the fact that Rihanna just repeats her chorus with zero emotion drives the point home even harder. Both artists are capable of far better.

'Fly' was great at the start, but got very boring quickly. I am gutted 'Right Thru Me' is so low, I don't get the hate for it :wub:

Fly is excellent. Her delivery and flow is quite remarkable for a midtempo jam really. Love it.

Practically every thread now has that ad.fly link, he's posted it in Kreayshawn - Gucci Gucci, here, the actual Pink Friday thread and in Keri Hilson - In A Perfect World! On ad.fly you link your site to ad.fly and people advertise then for every like 40,000 clicks or something ridiculous you get something like a dollar, which is pretty pointless and probably a scam of some kind. So he's spamming to get his dollar, Aloe Blacc would be proud!

Now I don't hate this song but I find it purely filler-ish. Quite forgettable and one I normally skip. Some people have different thoughts though as now less than three people gave it 10, with it picking up another five 9s.

I adore 'Blazin', the chorus is so catchy and breezy :wub: Really love it, but yeah it wouldn't work as a single.

Definitely wouldn't work as a single but Kanye's verse is amazing. I love the sample as well.

BLAZIN' is AMAZIN' and I really do think it would work as a single. If they'd managed to whip a video up by now it could've been an excellent late Summer follow-up to Super Bass. Fantastic use of a sample too (in exceptionally sharp contrast with Check It Out!).

I love Blazin', would've liked it a bit higher tbh.

Just missing out on a top 5 placing is the opening track 'I'm The Best'. This is one of my favourites from the album and I think it's a great opener. Seems everyone else quite likes it too as no one rated it below a 7.

I'm The Best really is one of the best! Good to see it so high, I didn't think it was a fan favourite!

I really I'm The Best as well, thought it'd be lower but I'm glad it's not!

I'm The Best should have been #1, probably my favourite song on the album.

Love that song, glad it's made it this high.
