Good Album Chart!

WHAT?! This must parallel a Katy song being #1 in my personal chart, in terms of WHAT A SHOCK :kink:

But, seriously, it's a very good song. Much prefer it to 'The A Team', which like much in that floaty guitar genre, wore off me pretty quickly. I've only listened to Titanium once, but it sounded FAB on first listen. Very powerful and quite beautiful. Quite like this Emeli Sandé song. GUTTED to see The Saturdays falling, it's regained full love from me again after the superb video!

I know right, unbelivable stuff happening here - he's clearly nuDelta :P

Titanium really shows itself to be amazing quite quickly. First listen I liked it, second I loved it but ever since I've been completely obsessed with it! The Sats song is great but there's a lot round that I'm loving at the moment so it got lost in the shuffle. Any one of my top 14 could have been top 10 easily...

Thanks Mavoy, nope not heard the new Cassandra song yet! Doesn't sound like I need to rush to either!

I love the new Evanescence song but I agree about My Immortal. Will Young won Pop Idol here in 2002, he's actually done a lot better here than most winners - he's still a big albums seller and I saw him live two years ago - very good!

I'm listening to A Thousand Lights right now actually, maybe it will climb again. I'll listen out for La Fee as well!

I don't use my Last.fm account because I don't listen to music on my computer really anymore (awful speakers/sound quality). I sync my iPod and then listen via a stereo.

1. Ed Sheeran - You Need Me, I Don't Need You (3) (CR-67-OUT-8-2-2-4-5-3-1) Brilliant number 1! Really hoping this is big for him.

Thanks Adam :D Agreed about Agnes, it sounds amazing!

Hi Rich!

Might've known 'You Need Me' would go to #1 at some point. But an insanely tight top six - I really like your popularity bars, they add an extra excitement to things. Though how you work them out I don't know!

Nice to see Laura Marling in the top ten, although I confess the track still hasn't totally clicked with me yet like her previous ones. Nice climbs for Maroon 5 and Emeli as well, fingers crossed one of them is official chart #1 next week! And SoundGirl, starting to rival their previous singles for me now.

I assume Agnes is charting just on the live video - I'm unsure for now, but I'm confident the studio version with impress me. I mean, it is Agnes!

And I really must listen to 'Watch the Throne' this week...

Excellent chart as ever.

Ha yes! It won't be as big as The A Team for me but it deserves its token week to shine at least! As for the pop bars, I work my chart backwards from #75 when I'm writing it up - when I got to the top six this week I was mulling over for a good half an hour what should be where, hence the closeness - there's no formula, it's just an estimation of how much I've liked a song in comparison to the song above it I guess!

I love Sophia, I usually find her singles far too subtle but this has a great melody imo. Indeed, loving both Moves Like Jagger and Heaven now  Bloody Wretch32 will no doubt see them both off though :/ I love Hero, I think we're its only two fans, I haven't seen anyone else charting it (highly anyway!).

Indeed, I can tell that it's going to be amazing but I doubt it will go massively high based on a pretty poor quality live performance...hope the studio leaks soon!

A new #1 for Ed Sheeran! And I much prefer this to 'The A Team', I would actually be pleased if Ed managed to beat Example in the UK charts (although that's very unlikely :().

I love 'Titanium' after a few listens, so hopefully it becomes an official single (as, unfortunately, I can't see there being much better on 'Nothing but the Beat').

'Freedom' is utter drivel, as expected. Seriously weak, and just incredibly lazy. It'd be the most deserved flop of the year (but I can unfortunately see it going top ten, if only for one week, before it bombs).

Agnes' new single didn't sound great from the live recording - I'll hold out hope for the studio version though, because I wasn't paying much attention/couldn't hear it very clearly. She'll never see UK success again though, unfortunately.

Nicola Roberts needs to get higher here with 'Lucky Day'!! I think I prefer it to 'BOMD' now, and thankfully, it's looking like being a UK success too. :D

Great chart Rich! :cheer:

Hey, some comments for you :D

4. David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium (NEW) (CR-4) This is his best song since Commander easily!

19. Antonia - Marionette (NEW) (CR-19) This was quite a big hit on my chart, got to #4 iirc. Nice song, I almost sent it to BJSC instead of Ane Brun, but decided to go with Do You Remember as it was more of an instant favourite of mine. Marionette struck me as distinctly average on first listen

21. Evanescence - What You Want (NEW) (CR-21) Not as electro sounding as I expected, but it's a decent continuation from their last album

31. M83 - Midnight City (NEW) (CR-31) The Indie song of 2011... apparantly. It doesn't do much for me really, maybe it'l grow on me

32. Agnes - Don't Go Breaking My Heart (NEW) (CR-32) This sounds EPIC from a live video I saw last week. Really looking forward to hearing the studio version!

51. Young London - Let Me Go (NEW) (CR-51) Was this is discovery via my chart, or elsewhere? I am quite like this, it's a slow burner on my chart, but it's continuing to grow on me

52. One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful (NEW) (CR-52) I'm am shocked and appalled by myself, but I actually rather like this :( . It does however sound like something a flop Eurovision country, like Andorra or Switzerland, would enter :heehee:

53. Katzenjammer - I Will Dance (When I Walk Away) (NEW) (CR-53) Really nice to see this entering! Out of interest, how have they done in the past on your chart?

58. Zaz - Je Veux (NEW) (CR-58) Not so keen on this one myself, Le Long De La Route was a decent hit on my chart though

67. J. Pearl feat Shayne Ward - Must Be A Reason Why (NEW) (CR-67) This is credited as Shayne Ward feat. J Pearl on his album :kink: . Poor guy, well and truly on the scrap heap now if he can't even be the main artist on one of his own songs anymore  . It's a decent song nevertheless

4. Agreed, it's amaaaaaazing

19. Really, I never noticed it there before :o Ha, indeed, Pavel showed me Marionette last month and I snubbed it as being average but on subsequent listen it's actually a lot better than I gave it credit for, very Ryan Tedder-ish big beat ballad.

21. It doesn't sound at all electro to my ears, which is a good thing - I was really hoping that they wouldn't go electro as I love their brand of gothic rock-lite!

31. Ha, indeed! I do like it a lot although I can't see it being HUGE in my chart...

32. Same, I can just about make out enough to know that it sounds fantastic!

51. Via the Popsessed website, although I noticed it was in your chart only after 'liking' them on Facebook and seeing you as a mutual friend. You can expect this to soar into my top ten next week, for reasons which I'm sure you can probably gather :kink: The guy's verses are alright but the chorus and middle eight are absolutely anthemic for me, she reminds me of Stine from Alphabeat  Definitely a great great pop song!

52. I completely agree, very cheesy pop and quite Eurovision-y, hence why I probably think that it's excellent!

53. I love it! They've had a few middling top 40 hits (i.e. the ones that went to #1 in your chart!) but the big one was A Bar In Amsterdam which peaked at #6 iirc!

58. It's very French! I have a soft spot for it!

67. Ha I know, before listening I had no idea that it was a slightly electro take on King Of My Castle  J.Pearl does sing the choruses though I guess, I actually prefer it to the original - which I was never a huge fan of due to the singer's voice mostly...

Thanks Theo!

Likewise, Stay Awake really isn't all that...he's had better in the past that have missed #1 so by rights it should be a #10 SMASH! Ah well, shame the charts don't always reflect quality...

Yeah I agree, I will buy Guetta's album - we already know about half of it  But this is his best in aeons thanks to Sia no doubt!

Aw, I like Freedom, way better than any of Sweet 7 but yeah I'm still expecting a flop...

Really, I think it sounds AMAZING from the live recording :o Great melody/production AND strings!

Lucky Day might climb a bit this week, I'm liking it more after seeing the video! BOMD faded on me very quickly, a bit like Run The World did, although I liked them both initially...I guess beat driven tracks never last long for me, I prefer the melody!

19 - Yeah, it's really good, but it took me at least 3 listens to get into it properly.

21 - I was looking forward to hearing their usual sound, but with an electro edge - maybe the album will have more like that on it. This is a strong comeback though!

31 - I'll be surprised if it ever makes my chart :heehee:

51 - The chorus is fantastic! They remind me of a poppier version of Electric Valentine, will be interested to hear more of their songs!

52 - It's probably why I like it too!

53 - Ahh ok! Yeah, they've had 6 number ones on my chart now :kink:

67 - It works really well! I do prefer the original though. Hopefully it'll do well in the charts, would be funny if it went top 10 after Shayne had just been dropped!

Thanks CJ! I like the Olly song a lot but not quite enough for top ten...

19. Hit me on the second I guess, but I wouldn't send it to BJSC for the very reason that it's easily dismissable on the first listen...

21. I guess it probably will, I'm happy enough if they stick to the sound they're best known for, their last album topped my album chart for 3 weeks and Call Me When You're Sober topped my singles chart!

51. Yes, good comparison. A Night With You was one of MANY songs I've considered for BJSC in the past and not ended up using.

53. I knew that the tally was racking up! Them and Hera Bjork are the queens of your chart!

67. Ha indeed! It definitely won't, it has cheap desperate flop written all over it and it won't get radio playlisting :drama:

21 - I remember reading that Call Me When You're Sober was a former #1 for you. I was quite surprised :o

51 - I wonder how well it would have done?

53 - Well, Steps are the record holders with 16 , but Katzenjammer could easily give them a run for their money if they release a few more albums!

67 - Shame :(

21. I loved it at the time. I still love it now actually, considering how I regard 2006 as my favourite year for music in the 00s, it managed to finish 20th in my EOY chart that year!

51. Not sure, it was in about May 2009 iirc, I reckon it might have come mid-low top ten but I switched it for I'm Going For Your Brother by Blank feat Young Ivy at the last minute which I far prefer and think was a much more edgy and unique entry so I don't regret that.

53. That's insane. Maybe Steps could finally add to that tally if they release the promised new music! Nostalgia alone will surely take them to #1 :kink: Delta's had the most for me I think, 11 or 12 in total iirc.

21 - Wow! CMWYS just missed out on my end of year chart sadly. I much preferred the following single, Lithium - that came 27th in my EOY chart of 2007.

51 - Ahh yes, I remember quite liking some aspects of that song!

53 - If they do release a new single it'll be 99.9% certain to be a #1 on my chart. The forthcoming Ultimate Collection is going to be my album of the week for the best part of a year probably :kink:
