Posted August 11, 201113 yr I know that for a short while Steps 5678 was the biggest selling non-top 10 hit. Since then I believe Numb/Encore has taken over, but wondered if anyone has a list of sales for high selling songs that have failed to get in the top 10. I'm thinking that Jason Mraz and Martin Solveig must be up there also! Thanks in advance
August 11, 201113 yr Miley Cyrus - The Climb has sold around 300,000 copies in The United Kingdom Pixie Lott - Cry Me Out has sold over 350,000 copies in The United Kingdom.
August 11, 201113 yr Author Miley Cyrus - The Climb has sold around 300,000 copies in The United Kingdom Pixie Lott - Cry Me Out has sold over 350,000 copies in The United Kingdom. Cheers Lee! I imagine Pixie has a few songs with decent sales to have not made the top 10. She seems to have the longevity in the charts that some artists don't have.
August 11, 201113 yr Cheers Lee! I imagine Pixie has a few songs with decent sales to have not made the top 10. She seems to have the longevity in the charts that some artists don't have. Pixie, is more of an album artist though. Cry Me Out is overall her second best selling single behind Mama Do. Turn It Up, Gravity & Broken Arrow all failed to break the top 10 but all three of them did sell over 100,000 what I guess is kind of decent. Her Album is over 820,000 in the United Kingdom alone!
August 11, 201113 yr Miley Cyrus - Party In The USA Why on earth it didn't reach top 10 is beyond me...
August 11, 201113 yr Miley Cyrus - Party In The USA Why on earth it didn't reach top 10 is beyond me... God don't get me started it was 85 copies behind #09 and 32 behind #10. I am still incredibly bitter. Had this had airplay it would have did amazing in the charts, No idea why it wasn't playlisted anywhere.. This could have easily went top 5. It has also sold over 210,000 in The United Kingdom. 7 Things was doing amazing after her X factor performance and was climbing to go top 10 on iTunes before getting removed from iTunes. Can't Be Tamed also peaked at number 4 on Uk Itunes and missed the top 10 peaking at 13.
August 11, 201113 yr Numb/Encore was on 372k by September 2009, probably over 400k by now. Iris almost 400k, Amazed 300k, Dog Days Are Over 365k, Sweet Home Alabama has over 200k downloads, not sure what it was on before though, I'm Yours on at least 530k. All from Andy and ShireBlogger at Haven. Not sure the Pixie sales will be that high, Cry Me Out was on 283k at the end of last year, won't have sold almost 70k this year.
August 11, 201113 yr I'm a little annoyed "Numb/Encore" has been overtaken, but it's still unbelievable for a song to shift 400k when it was released when singles sales were at an all time low and never get higher than #14. It spent THIRTEEN consecutive weeks between #14 and #19, for me that's more stunning than anything that may have overtaken it since (apart from maybe "I'm Yours", which had a mental top 40 run). I also love Ke$ha for rush-releasing and denying Miley Cyrus. Having heard some of the covers she's done recently, the woman deserves to spend an eternity at #11.
August 11, 201113 yr Miley Cyrus - Party In The USA Why on earth it didn't reach top 10 is beyond me... Because it's an utter dross? ^_^ Miley Cyrus? Oh, please. It's embarrassing to even talk about her...
August 11, 201113 yr Pixie, is more of an album artist though. Cry Me Out is overall her second best selling single behind Mama Do. Pixie? An album seller? That's hilarious! She's barely sold 800k with two #1 singles, 6/7 singles in total, a re-release and a high-profile Britain's Got Talent performance. I'm actually shocked she hasn't sold over 1 million with all of that considered. Pixie is not an album artist. She is a singles artist. She's just unable to get any of them into the top 10 after MD and B&G.
August 11, 201113 yr Jason Mraz "I'm Yours" - he never got higher than 11 and managed 56 weeks in the chart. 71-61-55-61R(2)-34-28-22-{11}-14-14-21-21-25-30-36-35-32-25-28-32-32-35-32-35-34-35-37-39-35-44-47-47-50-51-48-46-53-57-51-27-46-48-55-30-40-39-48-57-64-72-52R(10)-72-67-60-70-68R(25) -> 56 How much did he sell?
August 11, 201113 yr Pixie's album started off slow though, after the two #1 singles. I thought it did very well to eventually build up hundreds of thousands.
August 11, 201113 yr Mary J Blige "Be without you" what a chart run for a number 32 song {32}-38-38-42-47-48-45-45-51-59-60-59-63-61-56-43-63-75->18 Train Hey, Soul Sister 18 64-51-36-22-22-{18}-21-21-25-28-32-30-28-32-31-34-34-34-30-37-42-50-55-53-65-65-53-64-60R(20)-70-59R(11)-70R(2)->32 I think train has to be super high up on the list.
August 11, 201113 yr Of the songs that've charted in 2011 : Jason Mraz ~503k F&TM - DDAO 361k Train - HSS 316k Pink - RYG 313k Elbow - ODLY 310k
August 11, 201113 yr Pixie's album started off slow though, after the two #1 singles. I thought it did very well to eventually build up hundreds of thousands. Turn It Up did the equivalent of Teenage Dream - sell around 800k after 5 singles being released from it with a high-profile performance to help. The only difference is, Katy didn't have her album re-released. If Pixie is an album artist, surely Katy is? And tbh, I wouldn't call Katy an album artist at all. Pixie has definitely done well considering her album only peaked at #6 but if you're a true album artist, you would manage to go top 5 at least once, especially with two #1 singles.
August 11, 201113 yr I'll agree Pixie's album sales aren't anything to brag about. Two #1 singles, three further singles (all being pretty decent hits), a re-release and another single plus Britains Got Talent, price cuts and the amount of promotion she's done and airplay she has, plus the fact it's now been out two years and she's not even at triple platinum is a bit poor. And to answer the thread question, Waka Waka and Hey Soul Sister from 2010 sold alot considering their peaks.
