I wasn't responding to your post - it was a completely separate statement.

Oh, sorry

Although my point stands, I'd sooner listen to something with a great melody and terrible lyrics than vice versa. Hence why I prefer his feature on Starboy Nathan's Hangover, ok it has completely cringetastic lyrics throughout but it's fun and has a great hook! Don't Go is very subtle and I just can't get into it, in fact I can't remember anything about it besides the featured vocalist hook. And whatever the lyrics are about, I'm sure they're not quite as classic as 'my lifestyle's terribly wild, but you'll never catch me on the Jeremy Kyle show'

And I'm guessing your peak for Example was Watch The Sun Go Up. :P Mine was the follow-up, but I can definitely see what you mean, (bar Two Lives, that was far worse that Changed The Way You Kiss Me.) However I do love Example's singles on the whole, much better than Wretch.

Of course! I still find that completely uplifting and euphoric and it was my summer anthem of 2009! #19 was a ridiculous peak for it. I've never felt as much a connection with anything of his since...

Ugh, Wretch can p*ss off. It's another case like Example whereby I like each subsequent single of his less, yet it performs better than the last. Don't Go has a mild hook in the chorus and that's about as kind as I can be about it

Nero are like that for me. I can't hear what there is in Promises that makes it do better than Guilt, which was only OK next to the GLORIOUS Me And You

GAAAAH at Wretch passing Maroon 5 by the way, that's the first time they've had a genuinely good song since the first album IMHO and I'm pleased it's keeping it's original title so as to promote The Voice, hope we hear more about the UK version of that soon :w00t:

Booo @ that boring Wretch song catching up! Hope Emeli or Maroon 5/Xtina catch up soon.
100% agreed here. Radio 1 have never said "we playlist EVERY song that does well in the uk". :P

They just seem to playlist every song *I* don't like. ;)

Oh and please don't let that godawful Example song get to #01, the lyrics are completely pretentious and his voice on it makes me want to rip my ears off. I can't stand how unbelievably SMUG he is now either, he could do with a flop to take him down a peg or two (not that it'll happen, but still).

I realise I went off on a tangent there :).

5. Don't Go (Radio Edit) - Wretch 32

Agreed!

Me & You is still one of my top 15 of the year so far, yet Guilt and Promises have been pretty good but lacked the great life and spark of Me & You. I always feel like I'm the only one that ever has this opinion on their songs  I wish they'd released them in the following order -> Promises, Guilt, Me & You because these emerging UK acts always seem to benefit from the opposite of the law of diminishing returns due to their fanbase constantly growing regardless of whether the material is any better or not :drama:

Wretch ahead of Maroon 5 :cheer:

The top 2 acts this week could both have numbers in their names. The Bré random chart fact association is now researching when this last happened :magic:

I just think Me And You is very poor by their standards - I don't know why, I think I just prefer their more dubsteppy songs as 'Innocence', although I never charted it as I think my chart was on hiatus at the time of its release, would easily be a personal #1 for me and 'Guilt' and 'Promises' are both in my top 10 of 2011, but 'Me And You' is nothing more than okay. (For the record I prefer 'Guilt' to 'Promises')

ugh at Wretch, I prefer Maroon 5 at #1 over Wretch anyday

I may be a slight Maroon 5/Xtina loon but I honestly can't understand why more people would want Wretch at no.1 with the DULLEST song of the year. Anyway I love that MLJ is being a hit regardless of no.1.

Too often these days, especially on these boards, I see a famous name from the past, usually someone who wasn't so successful last time round, and everyone's all saying 'flop, they're flopstars, they flopped last time so they're irrelevent LOLZ' and I just like that two artists are managing to turn this opinion around.

Well, if Wretch 32 and Maroon 5 are #1 and #2 this week it'd be the first time since W/E 11 Dec 2004 where both of the top 2 positions contain an artist with a number in their name - Band Aid 20 - Do They Know It's Christmas? was #1 and Ice Cube feat. Mack 10 and Ms Toi - You Can Do It was #2. Still looking for a week where the MAIN artists both have numbers in their names though.

What a truly fascinating statistic :).

:puke: Nooooo - please please Maroon 5 overtake and get number one. If only R1 had playlisted it  Wretch 32 just gets worse and worse with every single.

Rant over, on the topic of Nero it is Me & You > Guilt >> Promises for me but I love them all and I'm currently addicted to 'Promises', maybe it could overtake Guilt in the future. On my current YTD chart MAY and Guilt are right next to each other atm with MAY just ahead. Both in my YTD top 20 and 'Promises' could join them in a few months as the song is AMAZING (I wish it could be no.1 a 2nd week just to stop Wretch 32 but that sadly won't happen)

S Club 7 spent two weeks at number 2 behind Eiffel 65 in 1999.

Really shocked at Maroon 5 but pleased for Christina she has been MIA for too long from the charts.I thought either Tinnie or Wretch 32 would go to No 1 this week but hope Emeli goes Top 5.Dont Go is by far the best song Wretch has put out and it makes a change from the usual Urban stuff coming out of the UK.

I know right? :D

Beat me to it by about 2 minutes  There have been a few times since then when the #1 artist and the #2 song had numbers in their names though, oddly enough.
