January 19, 201114 yr It had been listed on the release schedule as March, so will 'Price Tag' be one of the first songs as part of the instant download scheme? :o
January 19, 201114 yr Great cover! Do you mean the video will be avaliable to download then, or the actual song? The song.
January 19, 201114 yr It had been listed on the release schedule as March, so will 'Price Tag' be one of the first songs as part of the instant download scheme? :o I've heard it quite a few times on the radio, so I don't think so.
January 19, 201114 yr Do you mean the video will be avaliable to download then, or the actual song? The actual song, according to her official Facebook page.

January 19, 201114 yr It's part of Sony's new policy of putting out songs as soon as they go to radio. Anti-piracy and all that etc
January 19, 201114 yr oOo interesting, hope it does well but I think it may be a tad early coz Do It Like A Dude is still doing so well
January 20, 201114 yr oOo interesting, hope it does well but I think it may be a tad early coz Do It Like A Dude is still doing so well That's what I'm thinking. 'Do It Like a Dude' is still doing so well, I don't want it's success being hindered by 'Price Tag' which will obviously smash.
January 20, 201114 yr I'm sick of the way all modern artists feature on each other's records now. In the past 'featuring' was more a way to break a new singer or rapper before they released something on their own. Now every single record seems to be a collaboration of X featuring Y, Y featuring X, X and Z featuring Q and P etc. Do some artists just hang around the recording studio on the scrounge now or what?

It's virtually the same thing though? The B.o.B feature is clearly a way of aiming to break her in the US (and over here). I don't think the label expected Do It Like A Dude to be this successful.
January 20, 201114 yr I hate how everyone is going on about how different she is and how its such a new sound?! She sounds the same as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Alesha Dixon, Sheryl Cole and countless other boring, produced, pop rubbish.

She sounds the same as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Alesha Dixon, Sheryl Cole and countless other boring, produced, pop rubbish. Doesn't sound like any of them and she has a FAR superior voice to Gaga, Alesha and Cheryl, and is about as good as Beyonce.
January 21, 201114 yr I hate how everyone is going on about how different she is and how its such a new sound?! She sounds the same as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Alesha Dixon, Sheryl Cole and countless other boring, produced, pop rubbish. I actually don't think anyone is saying she is different or has a new sound. Even some of her biggest fans like myself will acknowledge that sonically she's not bringing anything new to the table. Her music doesn't sound particularly unique (but I would argue that nothing is really unique these days), but it's the combination of her voice, swagger, performance skills, personality, lyrics and strong melodies that have made me a fan.

I don't think the label expected Do It Like A Dude to be this successful. That's exactly what I mean - it was more of a leg up by established acts in the old days e.g. The Beatmasters, Coldcut and I'm pretty sure it was the groups who chose their featured singers, not the label. Yet another example of cold business practice in the music industry.

I agree with all of this. If anything, it's far more tiring people complaining about how much hype she's given and how she doesn't deserve it. Get over it, it's not her fault.
