My favourite #1 of the year is still What's My Name?, but Promises, Heart Skips a Beart, Stay Awake and Changed the Way You Kissed Me would make up the rest of my top 5. I can't believe some of the utter tripe that got #1 earlier in the year. Appalling. :puke:

Don't worry. I didn't like She Makes Me Wanna either (I'm sure I've hated on this song like a million times already, but it honestly is absolutely dreadful. I can't quite understand RedOne. Does he actually LISTEN to his songs before putting them out? How can he give a song like that out to another artist, and be proud of it? Weird man. Absolute joke tbh).

Personally, I think that generally red one produces good songs although for me it's pretty shocking and very unoriginal on she makes me wanna. It is not their worst though because the club is alive takes the biscuit for me. The reason why it seems even worse is that compared to other boyband current songs such as those by the wanted and one direction, it's so unoriginal. While I'm still not a big fan of those other boyband songs and boybands in general, they are both quite listenable songs and sound a lot less generic than she makes me wanna. Dev is such a pointless addition as well, she doesn't add anything to the song and probably makes it worse as well. Such a poor song

I think we did a rate of the #1s in the iTunes thread a while ago, and Don't Hold Your Breath won. I can't remember what lost though. Although I imagine if we did one now, the bottom 5 would be Grenade, Party Rock Anthem, Swagger Jagger, Give Me Everything and The Lazy Song. I think those are probably the 5 which get the most hate on here.

I surprised that the lazy song gets hate, it's just so bland and there's nothing to really like about it tbh yet there's nothing really to hate it. It's success still baffles me, how such a bland song can sell so well that it looks likely to go platinum

The best #1 of the year debate starts and ends for me with On The Floor, nothing comes close (apart from What's My Name but I was raving over it more in late 2010 than in 2011 frankly).
'Grenade', 'We R Who We R' and 'Don't Wanna Go Home' are still the only #1s of the year which I've never liked enough to chart (I actually probably should have charted DWGH on reflection as I do quite like it, it's just extremely nothingy compared to his 3 other top 3 hits) and the only other #1s I strongly dislike aside from Grenade/WRWWR are 'Party Rock Anthem' and 'Louder'. I'd say 4 terrible #1s out of 21 isn't *too* bad. And there have been 4 fantastic #1s to sort of 'cancel out' the terrible ones (What's My Name?, Changed The Way You Kiss Me, Promises and Stay Awake - with Someone Like You finishing my top 5 #1s of the year :P)

Wow! We have really similar top 5s! :D Just swap Someone Like You with Heart Skips a Beat.

Heart Skips A Beat is currently 6th in my list  But that may just be because of being relatively fresh and I may go off it over time.

I know this comes around loads but:

1. Adele - Someone Like You

2. Jennifer Lopez ft. Pitbull - On The Floor

3. Jessie J ft. B.o.B. - Price Tag

4. Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath

5. Olly Murs ft. Rizzle Kicks - Heart Skips A Beat

Just missing out are What's My Name? and Swagger Jagger (yes, really). Ooh, and Grenade. The only number 1 I outright dislike this year though is Party Rock Anthem.

David Guetta/Nicki Minaj up to #45! :o And it's up to #4 on Irish iTunes!!!! HOW, exactly? Great song though. The chorus is MASSIVE!
Stay Awake should get #1 then easily now, with it also #11 on iTunes Album Chart. Pretty sure it'll be a new #1 next week though, whoever it may be.

my number 1 of the year is probably Changed The Way You Kissed Me, but the number 1's have been getting really good of late, Stay Awake included   the only ones I don't like are We R Who We R, Don't Wanna Go Home and She Makes Me Wanna, everything else has been good :D
Hopefully Leona performing on Ant & Decs new show 'Red Or Black' on saturday will help her out on sunday! I want abit of a chart battle! haha
IWG #89 :D

18 Wretch 32 feat Josh Kumra 'Don't Go'

19 Bruno Mars 'The Lazy Song'

34. David Guetta - Turn Me On - I think this will miss the top 40 now. But it's still amazingly high. Anybody know why?

91. Beyonce - Love on Top - Considering she announced her pregnancy during this song's performance at the VMAs, I assume people wanted to watch the clip, and then they discover they like the song in the process.

129. Lil Wayne - Mirror - Burno Mars actually sings on this song, which is why it's charting high. He's not credited on UK iTunes though, so that's probably losing it sales.

#1 ranking then...

It's this week's promo single I think. Plus Nicki being on it must have helped it quite a bit. Though I do think it's odd that there's another promo single being used when the album's now out. Glad it's doing well though.

EDIT: Okay, now she's rapping, I would. But before, not at all.
