I'm sorry but she lacks an incredible amount of emotion. She clearly hasn't a f***ing clue what this song is about at all. It's actually an abomination to music that she has gone on the x factor and performed this.

 

I'm not saying she is a bad singer, but she really, really shouldn't have covered this. Maybe if she had been through even half of what Trent Reznor or Johnny Cash has she could put in a decent amount of emotion to make this a good performance rather than the incredibly bland performance she has put on.

 

To be fair, it's alot better than the studio version though.

Easily the best guest performance of the series, for me. It actually made me like her version of the song a lot more. I was incredibly under whelmed when I first heard the studio version. But that performance, wow. My favourite vocal of hers since she performed 'Run' on X Factor in 2008!

Definitely Jonjo! Definitely up there with one of her best performances!

 

Oh yeah Liam we have US X factor to look forward to as well, I wonder if it'll be Hurt, and i hope she performs with one of the finalists too! :dance:

Not as good as run, but the live version was better than the studio version! :o

I fear that the album (appearently) has no decent ballads in it and they had to resort to a cover again... :( This is bad news because Leona needs SO BADLY a big single now. Regardless if Hurt charts and sells well she won't get much from it anyway... not any artistic credit, not any tv/radio play. We all know she is an ace singer, but she needs good songs. It could have been released as a double a-side together with her next single instead imo.

 

I wonder if they changed the lineup of the album in the meantime, since they pushed the release date back...

 

(by the way the studio version of Iris is much better than the studio version of Hurt in her EP)

Run :o :D She's never performed Run in US if i remember correctly so really excited about that. :dance: A new live performance of Run is always a good thing. :wub:

She was amazing! not as good as the time she performed Run on the UK X Factor but her performance on the US one was still stunning!
