put your handbags down :P Everyone is allowed their own opinion obviously, but no need to start saying stuff to bait each other into a fight and to provoke responses out of each other, you can say stuff about who you want to be number one and still not have a dig at peoples tastes :)

Who are you? I like you :P

That comment is quite laughable, couldn't be far from the truth, I mean Pixie's debut album has sold over 1million worldwide and over 825,000 in The United Kingdom, when artists struggle to sell 200,000. Pixie's already had 2 number one singles and has had much more success than Maroon 5.

So? Doesn't mean it's not braindead, quality =/= quantity. And hardly more successful than a band whose début sold double "Turn It Up"'s total just in the UK

Tbh, that's debatable IMO as Maroon 5 do have an album which has sold nearly 2 million and have had top 5 singles such as this love, makes me wonder and she will be loved all of which have had better longevity than either of pixies no.1's

Well, Cry Me Out had a lot of longevity.

The problem with Pixie's song is that it's just SO generic. Another electropop song? Like really?

 Please tell me you're joking. Maroon 5 are known worldwide, been around for a decade. They have more success than Pixie Lott. You should really be comparing Pixie to N-Dubz tbh. Not M5, who have actually won Grammys lool. Preposterous

Hence i said "pixie's no.1's" :D

Even N-Dubz have been around since 2006 (although I didn't know them back then )! Pixie only had her first chart hit in 2009. So she's probably more comparable to artists like La Roux, Lady Gaga, Chipmunk, etc.

So you cleverly worded your statement so as to exclude Pixie's song which had a long chart run... :kink: Well done. But Pixie can have long chart runs, when her songs aren't held back.

And as much as I love Pixie, she can't be compared to Gaga (obviously) nor La Roux as they actually have a moderate hit in the US compared to Pixie who doesn't. Compare her to Chipmunk I guess

Just purchased it myself - simply astonishing. Love it.

Judging by some of Chipmunk's flow on his most recent album, he could be getting signed to Young Money soon.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking about US hits actually. So Chipmunk is probably a good comparison. Both him and Pixie have had big hits in 2011 aswell (although I doubt Pixie will sell as much as Champion did).

Well, it wouldn't be out of place on Turn It Up if you ask me. I don't think she should change her sound just to avoid being generic. I do accept that it's generic, but if you're looking for something different to everything else around from Pixie then you will always be dissapointed!

That's true I suppose. And The Saturdays and Leona have generic songs aswell (and even Example, Sean Kingston and Calvin Harris do, to a lesser extent), so I can't fully blame her. The song isn't bad, just would've probably been more interesting if released in 2003 or 2019. Not now when we've got plenty of that around. Although she wants to be successful, and that's what the public like at the moment I guess.

this is out now? :o oh dear :( its a wonderful song, but I wish it would've been given a Sunday release

and Maroon 5 are much more successful than Pixie Lott, they may not have had a number 1, but Songs About Jane was one of the biggest albums of the last decade!

[219] 172| The Feeling - A Hundred Sinners (Come And Get It)

Any idea why this has shot up a lot. It's impact release was last week wasn't it

Leona's got better airplay than The Saturdays at the moment Television wise as she has had for the last two weeks, All Fired Up has did amazing considering it's poor airplay.

01. Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger

-2. Pixie Lott - All About Tonight 99.2%

03. The Saturdays - All Fired Up 65.5% 1.3%

04. Leona Lewis - Collide 55.8% 0.2

Why did the on air on sale policy last five minutes? The OCC need to update their rules and put an end to this chart fixing. We wouldn't have had half of these ridiculous #1s this year had they been available from the get go. Download suppression died out years ago in the US yet it's still alive and well in the UK. A #1 in the UK means nothing nowadays, there's a new #1 every other week.

Oh come on you can not compare the success of Maroon 5 to someone like Pixie Lott lol

If we put every single song on air, on sale, like they do in the US, Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera would've probably had a MONSTER run at #1 already! :o

I have to say I'm hugely disappointed it ended almost as soon as it began. Its hit ratio was fairly decent and it always has been, songs that flopped probably would've done anyway. You only have to look at David Guetta to see how successful it can be, his success is ridiculous. I'm not sure whether anything other than Where Them Girls At were true OA/OS but all of his hits this year have climbed to their peak and been released well before the video was released, four huge hits in the space of 12 months.
