The Saturdays are so desperate for a number 1 which makes me hope they don't get one ever
The % movements are fine as long as the divisor method is used.

All that is needed are 3 simple things:-

  1. Calculate:- % in current update, divided by % in previous update, then subtract 100%. This gives the % movement for each track from one update to the next;
  2. The scale is: -100% being the smallest and (positive) infinity being the highest;
  3. When comparing 2 tracks' movements against each other, whichever has the larger number is performing better.
Simples :)

That's all to complicated for me :kink:

What I aim to do is show whether songs are closing in on the song in front, or losing gorund to the song behind - and I think what I do currently shows that. I don't want to make things too complicated :S

You can feel the love on this forum today lol.

I just dont understand the Pixie Lott love. I think the song is terrible.

I love The Sats and have all their albums but just not liking their new one at all.

Then there is Leona. I love her new song yet its just not doing the business.

Its not really that hard though - instead of pressing "minus" on the calculator, it just needs "divide" to be pressed in its place.

I think all 3 songs are crap and would prefer Sean Kingston to beat all of them for shits and giggles

I don't use a calculator though, I do it in my head ;)

I'll give it a go later and see what results I get :)

I would prefer Maroon 5

I think with Leona there are a few issues:-

  • the court case, which has impacted on radio play (whether in duration, or size, or both)
  • The song isn't actually that good unless its in a club with the thumping bass in which case it sounds awesome. I just don't think it comes across like that on the radio.
  • The song takes times to grow to like:- I went through a phase of "what?!" when I first heard it; to loving it after about 15 listens, to just being apathetic towards it (now)

I actually loved it straight away which is rare for me. Normally it takes me a while to like a song.

It does work well in a club but there has been many a time ive been dancing around my room to it on my own lol

Radioplay may not be good but the press alone for it should have sparked at least some interest. It may not get number 1 but I hope it stays around for a while

The Saturdays has not really had good airplay either compared to Pixie's so has done fantastic to at least get number two on iTunes.

Neither do I, I did like Mama Do at first, but it quickly grated on me.

And I can just feel the love in the mid thread tomorrow. -_-

I think a lot of people are actually unaware that Leona has a new single out.

I've lost count of the number of people that have said to me personally that they wouldn't have had a clue Leona had a new single out if I hadn't been banging on about it.

I think the midweeks will be..

1 - Sats

2 - Pixie

3 - Maroon

4 - Leona

But the end result will probably be the first three reversed.

I think the Leona track is a bit bland tbh and the lyrics are just cheesy and awful imo

Spiidey same with me, a lot of people actually havent heard Collide yet its not surprising though with it not being top 50 on radio and only a week on TV, thats why I think it may be a climber, or if not a song that will hopefully have good overall sales/chart run if TV/Radio each week build up its support.

and what are your thoughts on All About Tonight & All Fired Up lyrics? :)

I honestly don't see why anyone thinks Maroon 5 will be #1 this week. Last week was its best chance, especially with the difference being less than 300 copies between it getting to #1. I know it has increased its sales week on week but the best I can see this week for MLJ is #2 again. More likely another week at #3 I think.

The court case is not even helping it, I must admit I do like the track but its not her strongest.

Plus the credit Avicii & Leona Lewis does not help. No one is going to look under A :(

Gutted I'll be at College tomorrow, I sense fireworks in the midweeks topic.
