January 22, 201213 yr Diva Fever @realdivafever We're doing good :) Been looking at doing Eurovision this year- what you think? If Simon likes us hopefully Euorpe will :P C x PLEASE DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN
January 22, 201213 yr It must NOT happen, last place would be guaranteed again regardless of the song :(
January 22, 201213 yr Oh my god, we've already had Andy Abraham and yet it can still get worse :manson: Nul points would beckon if we sent bloody Diva Fever - if we must send a cheesy X-Factor duo then Same Difference is a better idea!
January 22, 201213 yr Wait, it seems they've also tweeted BBC asking how they could get involved - so I don't think the BBC has approached them at all, they just want to do it.
January 22, 201213 yr Thank god! The BBC will have decided on an act already and be filming some sort of accompanying documentary/reveal show as we speak no doubt :o
January 22, 201213 yr why on earth would we want a budget, camp version of Jedward representing us with all the amusement and entertainment factors sucked out? let's hope thats just a rumour, looking at Verity's list, there doesn't seem to be many better alternatives :(

January 22, 201213 yr Oh well, after UK did relatively well(ish) with Blue it looks like we're heading for another Josh Whatshisname year all over again. Last place? Nil points? It could happen if the BBC are so determined to not host the contest. Can't Channel 5 just buy the rights to broadcast Eurovision instead? I bet they'd be willing to splash out on hosting Eurovision if they were given the opportunity. It's also sad when Mel C is the only act Tyron has listed who could actually do well purely because of her success rate in Europe over the last 10 years. Jedward to represent Ireland 2012? :manson:
January 22, 201213 yr Oh god, Stacey and Joe? No, just no. She's heavily pregnant (although she may have had it by then) anyway. I love Stacey but she doesn't need to go down the Eurovision route! Mel C would be an interesting one - she was (and still is) popular in Europe so that at least should save her from nul points... Atomic Kitten is likely to be untrue but I'd love to see them reform and do it! We did the whole 'early 00s pop group reform just for Eurovision' thing last year though!
January 22, 201213 yr The BBC just can't be trusted with Eurovision. Germany finally has the right attitude and look how well Lena did for them. I suspect they'll be on track for another strong finish this year.
January 22, 201213 yr Oh COME ON Phil, having a several week selection process is no indicator of a strong performance - I'd have thought you'd be familiar enough with MGP and Melodifestivalen to know that! http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/grin.gif

Nooooooooooo. I said Germany were starting to take it seriously which is why they were starting to do better. I purposely didn't mention MGP or MF.
January 22, 201213 yr People would do well to remember that Blue were not mentioned in ANY of the numerous lists of possibilities last year, and neither was Pete Waterman the year before. So I wouldn't say we're headed for another Josh Dubovie year based on the lists, because they're probably all bullshit.

I said Germany were starting to take it seriously which is why they were starting to do better. I purposely didn't mention MGP or MF. You were on about the right attitude and how you suspect it'll lead to a strong finish - the same thing has been the case for the likes of Norway and Sweden and isn't necessarily an indicator of strong finishes either!
January 22, 201213 yr The reason Germany did well with Lena in 2010 was because 'Satellite' was a very polished and slick produced pop song imo. Lena herself was quirky in a "aww, ain't she cute?" kinda way. If Lena had lost out to another female singer who came across as more serious and less ditzy, I doubt Germany would've fared as well. Josh Dubovie (I assume that's his name as Peter mentioned above) lacked one important ingredient; a personality. A cardboard cut out of Josh would've had the same impact.
January 22, 201213 yr LENA! You've got Lana on the mind Hits :P So I have. :kink: (amended the spelling  ) Lana for Eurovision 2013. :w00t:
January 22, 201213 yr You were on about the right attitude and how you suspect it'll lead to a strong finish - the same thing has been the case for the likes of Norway and Sweden and isn't necessarily an indicator of strong finishes either! They have Semi's to get through which is why I specifically didn't mention them as we are more comparable to Germany than Sweden/Norway. As a Big5 nation we have one of the best probabilities of winning ahead of the contest (ignoring song choices) and if we put effort in then that probability stays strong and like Germany we can get a respectable result. If we treat it like a joke then our probability of coming last more or less equals 1.
