Italy are going to be the big winners with the juries this year, I'm near sure of it! Spain have a good ballad too, but it's not up there with 'Per Sempre' in all honesty. Could this be the year that all of the big five finish in the top half?! When was the last time that happened with the big four/five?

Am I the only one who thinks Germany have nothing going for them this year? It's such a borefest. :(

Nope, I hate it too

And even though this is treason Quédate Conmigo >>>>>>> Per Sempre.

Pixie may well have put across the "right image" of Eurovision to the people of the UK, but I'd say she'd stand a MUCH bigger chance of flopping in the actual contest. Think Getter Jaani, think Magdalena Tul, think Emmy, think Kristina, think Aisha, think Juliana Pasha, and all the other half-baked "pop princesses" who have flopped. Because Pixie Lott most CERTAINLY is not a Lena, a Helena Paparizou or a Yohanna!!

Engelbert could flop, but he could also do really quite well...at least he'll have the juries on side, which would be an uphill struggle for someone like Pixie if they're anything like last year.

And at least if Engelbert flops, more people will say "we should have sent somebody modern," and if he succeeds, then who's complaining? If Pixie was sent with a modern song that was a hit pre-contest and flopped, then we'd really be worse off than we were beforehand.

So @bbceurovision have been tweeting:

Tomorrow Engelbert is filming our Eurovision video. You’ll get to hear the song exclusively next Monday on our official BBC site #eurovision
You can then hear from the man himself when he appears on The One Show next Tuesday. #eurovision

The One Show, they're really pushing the boat out this year...

The video should be a hoot.

Talking of videos, it hasn't escaped my attention that now Euphoria has won Melodifestivalen, it means that we'll surely get a music video for it?

So, the song will be presented on 19th of March?

Yep :)

So, the song will be presented on 19th of March?

I'm so excited about it. :coffee:

We haven't heard it, but I have a sweet feeling that the UK will come last in Eurovision this year.

I can't wait to see the response

Something tells me it will be a bottom 1 :kink: yeah, there I said it :P

Remember this, jump to 4:07

I'm still going to be an optimist and think that we're gonna surprise this year and have the jury help us out. We won't win (Loreen has that covered :kink:) but I genuinely think we'll place at least top 10, but top 5 wouldn't be too far out of reach.
I'm with Jonjo here. I don't think we're going to do too badly. It's gonna be like Italy 2011, we're gonna hoover up the Jury vote.
I also think this. There's also the possibility that the song will (Shock! Horror!) be quite good :o
Oddly, I worked with someone today who'd been the lighting technician for Engelbert's video shoot the other day! Apparently the song has a very strong narrative, and sounds very classic (so '60s, I think). Sounds like the video is just Humpy standing in a room, but I suppose that was to be expected.
I think that Engelbert Humperdinck will collect votes from the national juries. He is a great artist and many people appreciate him. Do you remember Andrew Lloyd Webber two years ago..? United Kingdom lasted 5th. It was a great song with a very good vocalist too (Jade).
The trouble with comparing it to 2009 is that we don't have a younger artist to pull in that demographic, which Jade definitely did to some extent. If it was Hump featuring... OK, not Adele but say... Rumer, then it might have more appeal acrsoss the board. But I think in Central/Eastern Europe it could pick up some televotes.

Despite my bashing of him when he was first announced, I hope he can come up with a massive ballad (something like My Heart Is Yours would work well - contemporary and should be successful despite Didrik's underperformance) and I'll be happier with the BBC!
So good omg
