January 8, 201213 yr Urgh Headlines could have been a Platinum seller is treated like a proper album release. bout 400k - 500k sales wise too!

March 28, 201213 yr It's funny how a 'wow' for The Saturdays was a 'meh' for Girls Aloud back in the day. :kink: Chasing Lights makes up just over 50% of their total album sales. :o Wordshaker was posted too by the way - 84,921.
March 28, 201213 yr Wordshaker's still popping up in HMV stores at the moment. I finally bought my copy at the end of last year.
March 28, 201213 yr In all fairness Ego helped Wordshaker quite well, had On Your Radar had another single released after the album, I am sure in time would have outsold Wordshaker.
March 30, 201213 yr Headlines actually done really well considering it only had two singles released from it and it wasn't a "proper" album. :o
March 30, 201213 yr Headlines!...............the album that could have gone Platinum. Such a wasted opportunity to up their profile.
May 14, 201213 yr If 'On Your Radar' was released this week and the same number of people bought it as they did in November, they would have been #3! Their second week would have also been in the top 10!
May 14, 201213 yr Applying sales achieved in the fourth quarter, to the second quarter, is a bit of a moot point to make. You could say any album in that's week's Top 23 would have charted higher now, if they sold the same... but they simply don't at this time of year. For all we know, 'On Your Radar' could have "done a Cover Drive" had it been released this week.
May 17, 201213 yr Author Exactly. I see people a lot commenting how "if they'd have released it this week" or "if they'd have released it this quatre" it would have got to #1 etc etc. That's simply not the case. Just because for example 21,000 people baught (for example) All Fired Up one week and it got to #2, if it were to be released the week after it would not get 21,000. Could get more, could get less. Every week = different trading climate. However comparing 4th quatre sales to 2nd quatre sales can't be done as you have the Christmas effect taking place through the magority of the 4th quatre - there are no Christmas shoppers in the 2nd quatre.
