Wow - amazing to see it there! Am really getting into the song now - the real version is of course 100x better than Frankie Cocoza :lol: If it could be #2 officially to Loca People that would be AMAZING :wub:

Bloody hell, it is :o I was certain it'd start to retreat before getting there! I'm sure it will drop out over the week but it'd actually be quite nice if it can somehow get to #1 after all these years.

 

Not necessarily for the quality of the song (as I say I find it quite overrated myself, although it's not terrible), but just for how unusual it would be.

Sak Noel is ahead of Maroon 5 combined as well now :w00t: Hopefully Maroon 5 will fall back to #3 this week then although Iris will probably fall back behind leaving them a fifth week at #2 (but probably finally reaching #1 next week as I keep saying)

Well hopefully it'll finally be a GOOD song stopping MLJ from no.1. Let's keep Loca People off!

I can't think when the last 5-weeker at #2 was but it was definitely no longer ago than 1991 and probably a lot more recent than that as I'm sure it will have happened at least one other time in 20 years. :lol:

Iris is a PURE classic, It deserve the number 1 spot more than any other crappy new songs... like MLJ or LP.

I think the GENERAL CONSENSAMUS is that Frankie's performance was absolutely dreadful and the original is far better.

If Iris is no.1 this week, MLJ will never get there. People will find out about Iris and it'll probably top the charts for a couple of weeks. Anyway, if MLJ never gets no.1, at least it'll forever annoy Bray as a 'no.1 that never was' :P

Adele, Tracy Chapman, Damien Rice and now the Goo Goo Dolls - reality TV shows certainly have a huge impact on the charts. I'd be impressive for 'Iris' to reach #1 - it's a great song, but I think Maroon 5 / Christina deserve to reach the peak at long last. I reckon 'Iris' will fall during the week, as will 'Loca People' - while 'Moves Like Jagger' seems only to climb during the week.

'Iris' going to no. 1 this Sunday would be a real turn up for the books. I'm shocked it's managed to get there - would've thought it'd maybe go top 5 before slipping down again.

 

Also if 'Iris' is #1 on Sunday, it's going to rocket down the charts from next week onwards. I still think Sak Noel will get there by the end of the week.

In 1994, All 4 One spent 7 weeks at no.2 with 'I swear' behind 'Love is All Around' by Wet Wet Wet.

I'm sure that you are thinking of 'I'm too Sexy' by Right Said Fred which spent 6 weeks behind

Bryan Adams in 1991.
