Mature? I can't.

Well don't, bitch.

07 Aura - working as the perfect into to this 'concept'. the last link to btw. the chorus works well. a shame about the rest of the iamspamamispamwhoamspam sink getting involved.

10 Venus - if you weren't aware it seems abba want to sort something out for next year. here is proof why that is a worthwhile sort of thing. that chorus is really good and so is 'garden panty' but so ironically it becomes reality.

07 GUY - so much fun. though it seems to fall into standard EDM at times (nonetheless the middle 8 is really up-to-scratch)

09 Sexxx Dreams - every spoken word part of this song gives quotes to rec--reate and beyond

10 Jewels n' Drugs" (featuring T.I., Too Short and Twista) - well thought out, very much of its moment, notice TI in to Too $hort intermitantly with Gaga doing something onpoint builds into that wonderful `Twista finale? Such a tune and more clever than the biast BJ collective will give it credit for (brooke crandy appreciate getting your act being stealed from beneath you, Sia really can't fix it now...)

10 Manicure - another quality middle 8 though this entire song is really good. tempo, sonics et al it is all going on

06 Do What U Want - i'm still not excited by this. production is evidently a little avant-80s-garde and that's saying a lot with poor

UPDATE :: currently this record is really good but it falls back slightly into only 'decent' territory. NONE THE FUCKING LESS it is easily the most interesting, creative, thoughtful, well/ill thought out record. I'm so disillusioned with pop these days that I've done something I never thought I would do, I've sought SOLACE in the past. What purpose does 'Unconditionally' by our biggest current popstar Katy Perry achieve? So utterly contrived and basic in its conception and purpose, it's a real low for pop music. The laziest. GaGa may not go for those true LOWS of emotion and day-to-day feeling but at least she fucking achieves at presenting the switched up way of life realistically. Occasionally is exhilarating, always unexpected and partially weak, Artpop CHALLENGES and challenging is the best thing a pop record can do in the year 2013...

(none2theless) p2 to follow of this review ok

individual scores really don't reflect a record esp when it is at CONCEPT MAX aka artpop

I feel this comment.

How wasted was Jake when that review was unleashed?

Haha. Slightly but I've been much worse before. Would you care for a sober review?

Can we just take a moment to appreciate Dope?

I sometimes feel like I'm the only one here prone to Gaga ballads.

Dope is ruined by her diction, but it is growing on me. I never heard I Wanna Be With You so I have no idea how different it was.
Dope is one of my favourites personally, always have loved her ballads - 'Speechless' being my 3rd fave on The Fame Monster behind the BR/Telephone combo.
I don't really like her ballads, I don't know if it's just a case of them not being very good or her just not having the voice for them. Either way they're not her strong point at all.
Her songwriting in balladry is always basic as hell, and it's always that same dull piano backing. I'd like her to produce a pop ballad, something a little more synthesized. I certainly don't mind her ripping off Madge again if we get a modern day Live to Tell out of it...
Her performance of 'Gypsy' at SNL was fantastic! So good. She made it work with "real" instruments.
This has to be my fav era of hers. Everything falls into place tremendously.
'Gypsy' would be perfect tbh. She could sing about being on her own now that Beyoyo isn't there on the record etc.. :D I can't get over 'Gypsy'. It's definitely the song that's keeping me interested in this era.

Completely agree with this statement!
