THIS. Wednesday is the lowest of the sales days of the week (along with Thursday) therefore Rihanna is up against it and need a 3x MLJ lead all week AFAIC.

That's not really reverent to a new release all Rihanna navy rush out and buy it! Then we get the casual fans keeping it going!

... unless Gym Class Heroes stick a spammer in the works which is released this weekend. Its going to be an interesting few weeks.

Pfft. Jester or Slick can just ban it. Then what will Gym Class Heroes do? :o

I was annoyed at first that MLJ won't get get no.1 but then I remembered that I actually like this Rihanna track and it pisses all over the last 7 no.1s and it will probably hang around unlike them. Plus if she doesn'y get no.1 this week she'd be in a MLJ position herself due to the competition in the coming weeks. As much as I really want MLJ to make it, it won't be as annoying as losing out to Sak Noel or Dappy or something else crap.
Hmm, I am wondering about whether "We Found Love" will have the legs - it'll need to start stretching ahead now and maintain a huge advantage all week. I still think she'll just miss out, simply because she's probably selling a good bit faster than "Where Them Girls At" (Monday release) but a lot slower than "Born This Way" (Friday release). Both of those songs only entered at #3, and neither sold over 62k. "We Found Love" will need a good 10k more than that, it'll be a tough ask.
Thirded.

I actually do love We Found Love but GAH at Moves Like Jagger looking like missing out again, on what is definitely its last opportunity to go to #1 :(

At least during their mammoth #2 run and peak in Australia they've been beaten by the same song each week, six weeks at #2 behind six different songs is just beyond a joke now. I thought that Better Off Alone being denied by three songs in 1999 was bad enough, so this is officially twice as bad and I can never use the Alice Deejay example again!

They were behind Someone Like You for the first two weeks and this Gotye song for the rest, so not quite :P

Anyway, bloody hell at We Found Love getting to #1 in only thirteen and a half hours :o I was expecting it to be low top 10 at best when I got home from school.

LPB is probably behind as usual but MLJ is currently at 90% there. I think they'll need to drop to at least below 50% and stay down there for the rest of the week for Rihanna to challenge for #1, I still highly doubt she'll do it.

You're just being the opposite of me :P I think she'll do it easily. Maroon 5 aren't on course for they're best sales week according to the Sunday Chart Predictions thread.

Incredible - 'We Found Love' at #1 already. Releasing it early was definitely a good decision made on the manager's behalf. The question now is whether it can catch-up with the sales of Maroon 5 / Christina.

Maroon 5 have had ~3 days and 15 hours at #1 - so with only 3 days and 9 hours remaining - Maroon 5'd have to drop significantly in sales for Rihanna to catch up. I reckon Rihanna will debut at #3 behind Sak Noel - purely because of the multiple versions and EP sales.

Next week: Rihanna // Maroon 5 // Gym Class Heroes // Matt Cardle.

Hmm, if that is next week's top 4, I'm looking forward to it! I like all those tracks. Too bad the top 5 would be rounded off wiith Sak Noel

Just let me have my negativity please! I won't believe Rihanna is #1 this week until Reggie announces it. (And even then I won't be 100% convinced)

More like 3 days and 13 hours - not much of a difference but 2 hours could seal it in this battle, who knows  Maroon 5 don't need to drop in sales, Rihanna just needs to acquire an enormous lead and hold it for 4 days. I do think she'll be at least #2 this week but still not convinced she'll beat M5.

And I assume that top 4 is not in order, because there's no way in hell Maroon 5 are going to be ahead of Gym Class Heroes on their ninth week compared to GCH's first week.

-x-

Maroon 5 now down to 69.6%.

At least Reggie would announce it. If MLJ gets to no.1 it'll probably be the first week the no.1 gets skipped and the whole country will think Rihanna is no.1 anyway

No, haha. Was merely stating the contenders for #1 next week. If Maroon 5 grab #1 this week, I see them falling to #4 next Sunday (their lowest chart position to date!) behind Matt Cardle, Rihanna and Gym Class Heroes in that order.

Of course, Rihanna performing on the X-Factor could ensure a #1 - wonder whether she'll fly out for a surprise appearance.

I'm convinced Rihanna could release a song of silence, and it'd still reach #01 in this country.

Yeah, Rihanna goes to #1 with everything in this country, which explains those massive #1 hits 'Pon De Replay', 'If It's Lovin' That You Want', 'SOS', 'Unfaithful', 'We Ride', 'Shut Up And Drive', 'Hate That I Love You', 'Don't Stop The Music', 'Disturbia', 'Rehab', 'Russian Roulette', 'Rude Boy', 'Te Amo', 'Hard', 'S&M', 'California King Bed' and 'Cheers (Drink To That)'.

That Wherever You Will Go cover is gorgeous. So pleased it's doing well. As for Rihanna. I don't mind if she gets no.1 TBH. Yes it would a shame M5 would always be stopped from getting the top spot but what an amazing chart run. They've got their own record here :D

BLOODY HELL :o Rihanna already no.1?! I'm going off WFL a bit already but I much prefer to overrated MLJ!
I think with her on 30% lead over MLJ and them not selling more than 70K this week... it's a 50/50 chance.
