Hopefully Jessie and Danny will be the better judges in this. Tom Jones gets on my nerves so not looking forward to him. From what we saw of Will.I.Am on X Factor (mentoring with Cheryl and stuff) he seems a bit bland.

He was pointless at judges houses with Cheryl but he was very funny mentoring on American Idol. I'm not a fan of most of his music but I think he'll be great.

will.I.am thinks Cherly can sing, surely this alone is a big enough reason to exclude him from judging a show called 'The Voice'.
He thinks she's marketable, there's a difference. Surely no one thinks she can sing. Although maybe he should answer for 'Dirty bit', horrible song.
I'm not entirely sure of that panel on first glance, Will.i.am seems quite a bizarre choice considering this is The Voice and I don't think I've ever heard him sing without the help of autotune! I shall give it a chance though, I'm glad they've mixed older and younger judges
Cheryl can sing, granted she is average at best but she can sing. She was actually very good live in Girls Aloud, her solo live performances on the whole have been pretty bad though so I can see why people think that.
No thanks - not with his girlie voice :puke2:

Will Young hasn't got a girlie voice at all you monumental prat! Not that that would have a THING to do with judging

He's just not a fan of Will Young since he isn't adept at 'fast talking'...

Although you're right on the second point, Will Young DOES have a high and relatively girlish voice. It can be particularly GRATING on record and is a fair part of the reason I can't stand to listen to Jealousy.

It's fairly high for a man but it doesn't sound a thing like a girl!

Some girls have deep voices, you should try and avoid stereotyping.

:D

Find me a girl who sounds a THING LIKE Will Young and you will have someone who can't really be described as having a 'girlie voice'. :D

I'm interested by the line-up. Will.i.am does stand out as an odd choice, but people are right when they say that the voice of the title relates to the contestants being judged in the first instance (after careful screening by producers) on their voice alone. In that respect, the judges should be evaluated on the basis of their hearing, and while I'm not keen on everything he's done, a music producer would reasonably be expected to have a better ear for what will work in the studio than someone whose career is all on the performing side.

The Script are one of those bands that are much bigger than people realise. They've had big albums in the UK and globally, and monster airplay hits, so if people aren't familiar with them, it's a reflection of their musical knowledge, not their success. Although I'd hazard a guess that most people would recognise their music as soon as they heard it. Danny hasn't been an obvious celebrity up until now, but that makes his inclusion more interesting. We can all predict what the others are going to be like, but he's an unknown quantity to the general public. I've seen them live, and he's got a decent stage rapport, so I don't think there is anything to worry about there.

The 'helpers' for each judge (I didn't follow the US series but I guess they mean like when Jennifer Hudson and Jessie J guested at Judge's Houses on X-Factor this year) have been revealed:

Tom Jones - Lianne La Havas

Danny O'Donoughue - Mark Sheehan

Will.I.AM - Natalia Kills

Jessie J - Harinder Rana

I have no idea who Harinder is, but Lianne should be interesting given she's a new up and coming talent herself. Mark is in The Script with Danny so that was predictable, Will choosing Natalia is interesting, I don't like her personality though.

I love Lianne and Natalia. I am sure some people will not have any clue who ANY of them are but

will.i.am being picked for his hearing is even worse - doesn't he have tinnitus?
Hopefully, it will get Natalia into the charts, where she is rightfully supposed to be.

Oh dear, the winner of the US version, Javier Colon, peaked at 134 with his album  The runner-up Dia Frampton didn't even chart with hers!

I do hope the UK version has more success chart-wise, I think it will given that the US seem to have given up caring about any of their reality winners lately.
