Wow I predicted about 5 or 6 new entries in the album top 10 with a lot of others just outside, no sign of Britney's remix album though

Unless they cloned him, it'd be hard to do that in more than one... :w00t:

Ooops! Still I bet those Wand Erection dolls find a place on the supermarket Xmas shelves.

The Steps Compilation is their 2001 'Gold' CD - plus their 2011 Recording of 'Dancing Queen'.

But, the Steps Album is in 2 versions - their Sales will be combined. The first version has

1 CD - 20 Tracks. The 'Deluxe' version has the 20 Track CD, plus a 20 Track DVD. (Although

HMV & Amazon have got it wrong, & think the DVD has 19 Tracks).

The CD has 'Dancing Queen' on it. But, it is not on the DVD. The DVD has 'Words Are Not Enough'

on it, but that is not on the CD.

Amazon.uk have made it pointless to buy the 1 CD version. They are selling it for £8.93. But, they

are selling the 2 CD version for £8.99 - meaning that you get the 2nd CD for just 6p more!

Yay for Evanescence at No. 1! But of course the British public are idiots and only buy albums/songs that are promoted on ITV, so the utterly talentless and useless Steps will probably finish ahead of them.
Surprised both of Matt's B sides have sold enough to each chart separately in the Top 30, though I prefer them to the single. Still seems strange to me having heard the previews and live tracks that they went with Run For Your Life, they obviously thought Gary's name alone would propel it to greatness and it's backfired. Gets him off to a dodgy start as an X Factor winner.

I think no.5 is good for Matt. Let's face it, as much as I like it, it really isn't the best of songs and was never going to set the world alight. I know loads of people will scream flop but I think judgement better be left until the album is released. I hope it will do well but if that flops, he'll definitely be out on his arse.

And by some miracle I like every song in the top5 this week :o

It'd be great to see Steps stay top 2 but Adele could overtake I suppose. Could I have an indication of where Maroon 5's album is please?

matt top 5 single, and a number 1 album please! :)
I think Matt's album will sell bucketloads.

Really his single is going down the pan on iTunes... hang on, blame Gary Barlow :D I hope Gary Barlow is not reading this

I would like Matt Cardle to be higher but i really can see him been more of an albums act, well here is hoping anyhow as i really like his music.

Im delighted Steps are doing well, either way i think it will definitly hold top 5 at worst on sunday which is still alot better than i expected, as its been said its basicially a re hash of gold with dancing queen added in (and gold has been a massive seller) so top 5 alone would be great, with promotion etc lined up though they could well be in with a shout of number 1, i guess its showing a sign there is still interest in the band, interesting now to see how the tour will sell.

With all the new entries i hope it means decent album sales this week, big drop for joe mcelderry but im sure he will climb throughout the week and possibly creep back into the top 20 by the end of the week.

I'm thinking Matt's pre-orders will be key in how well it charts. On the Amazon chart for example (which I know is only 1 chart) his album shot up their Top 100 sellers to #4 after his XF performance but only stayed there briefly. When I looked this morning it had slipped to #10 with Ce-lo Green @ #2. He seems to have gained more from the XF Performance than Matt, at least short term.

i love run for your life, i actually think matt's vocal lets the song down slightly and would be better performed by someone else.

I think Adele will be number 1 in the albums... Evanescence and especially Steps will be very front loaded and the gap is too little.
The top 3 albums will probably be reversed by Sunday, GH sets and reissues are usually less frontloaded than studio albums (see Nirvana climbing above Blink a couple of weeks ago) but I'm hoping Evanescence will cling onto at least #2. My copy is on its way :D the biggest shock in the albums for me is seeing Jason Derulo below Ryan Adams, I assumed Jason would at least match the #8 peak of his début.
Great to see Echoes holding steady even with all those new releases in front of it :cheer:

I'm surprised Steps are doing so well - I'd have assumed they'd be considered exactly the sort of cheesy pop that youngsters would die rather than admit to liking. :P

Well, you've (inadvertently?) hit the nail on the head there. Like pornography, Steps benefit from the internet, for much the same reason. In the download era, people can download whatever they like, and no one needs to know. There's no more embarrassment of picking that Steps album off the shelf and mumbling, "It's for my little sister" at the shop assistant.

They haven't, it's an error. They'll be gone tomorrow.

If Evanescence are only 2k ahead of Adele then I am 100% certain Adele will be back at the top on Sunday. Steps may also overtake Evanescence.

Disappointed to see James Morrison out of the top 5 - I'm sure he'll overtake Ryan Adams so his chart run will be 1-1-5 (unless Cliff/Katherine's late-week sales boost them to the top 5) but it's not a great showing that Ed Sheeran is already outselling him. Good from Ed Sheeran's perspective though, I'm hoping '+' can benefit from Christmas sales what with 'Lego House' looking like being a decent sized hit and being far more of an album selling song than YNM,IDNY.

I was expecting Jason Derülo to be higher but it's not really that surprising that it's lowish, it's absolutely bombed in the USA (but then neither of the singles were any bigger than minor top 20 hits there whereas both have gone top 5, one to #1 here).

Shocked at Radiohead being top 30 with a remix album :o It'll surely drop out of the top 40 by the end of the week though, it's hardly going to attract many casual sales, it'll just be the really dedicated Radiohead fans buying it.

On the singles front, brilliant to see 'Fix You' at #27 (taking out the two erroneous Matt entries). It's still top 30 on iTunes with a second entry just outside the top 200 so there could be a decent chance of it actually staying top 40 this time, after two previous weeks this year where it was top 40 in the mids but dropped out by Sunday.

Also great to see Wolfgang Gartner & will.i.am heading for the top 40. Big flop for Timbaland & Pitbull but it's still climbing on iTunes so I think it could still go top 30 (what an ACHIEVEMENT).

I thought Nero would be top 40 today with 'Crush On You', I'm guessing that's one of the two songs knocked out of the top 40 by Matt's B-Sides today though.

Ahh yeah I just realised neither of the tracks are anywhere near the Top 200 on itunes so can't have sold in their own right. They are likely his physical sales then?
