The song was digitally released between July - September 2009 & physical was released in September & October with the US artwork different to the rest of the world. The world premiere of the Paul Oakenfold 12" Dub version was played on the Pete Tong BBC Radio 1 show on July 24th. Celebration went to #1 in Finland for 6 weeks, Italy (4 weeks), Scotland (3 weeks), Sweden (2 weeks) & US Hot Club Dance Play Charts (her 40th). In France the song has spent 61 weeks inside the top 100 singles chart peaking at #2. It portrayed Madonna and her tour dancers solo dancing to the song. Cameo appearances were made by Jesus Luz and in an alternative video by her daughter Lourdes. At the 52nd Grammy Awards, the song received a nomination in the Best Dance Recording category. Madonna's official website, advertised that a music video was filming in Milan, Italy, where "die-hard fans" had to show up on July 18th for the filming of segments showcasing fans dancing and "being themselves for the fan made video. Filming was done during breaks of the Sticky & Sweet Tour. Performances Madonna did do promotion of the album. But has never performed Celebration live she did use Celebration (and Everybody) and mixed it with Holiday on the Sticky & Sweet Tour 2009 . October 14, 201113 yr This and Intervention are my two favourite Madonna songs, :lol: Loved it from the first listen. It may not be ground breaking like Hung Up but its still a lush song. MOAN the Scots for getting it #1 :cheer: we clearly have excellent taste.
