Agreed. Tinchy Stryder's unpopularity at the time (Seriously, he had two flops in comparison to what he had with the previous album) stopped it from going higher. It also didn't help that on the charts it was listed as "Tinchy Stryder featuring Chipmunk". And Chipmunk totally destroyed the song (in a bad way). His verse didn't fit with any of the song, similar to Hitman on the single version of Forgot about Dre

I'm confused a bit on how tragically bad Tinchy did with Third Strike compared with his second album (Catch 22). The timing was alright (In My System was released exactly a year from a Catch 22 release) and it was a decent song and did alright at #10 but I guess his other songs were relased at clash weeks with other big songs so he got sidetracked. I'm not sure tbh

Rizzle Kicks // Stereo Typical

When I Was A Youngster = 17 | 105 | 265

Down With The Trumpets = 62 | 213 | 584

Miss Cigarette = 218 | 332

Mama Do The Hump = 406

Dreamers = 440

Perfect Day = 557

Garden = 569

Propher (Better Watch It) = 660

Stop With The Chatter = 793

Superheroes = 975

Travellers Chant = 986

tinchy has for me been replaced by all his other grime scene friends like tinie, wretch etc and unfortunately he will have to come out with something big again or he wont be recognised as anything long term.

Yeah, I wonder. I think with In My System, people simply didn't find it as catchy as his other hits from his previous era.

It was annoying though, since after You're Not Alone, everybody was like "Goodness me, all his songs sound the same, can he release something a bit different?". That was fair enough, because, as much as I loved him, I can understand his singles were all quite similar tbh. But then he released In My System, which was a bit of a different sound (sounded almost like Te Quiero by Stromae to me), and then everybody was like "This is terrible, he should go back to his old sound". Then he released Second Chance, which was another Take Me Back clone, then it flopped and everyone was like "This sounds the same as all his other other songs. He should try something different". Poor guy could never win. :(

I'm pleased with the success and critical reception that Spaceship had though. And Let it Rain did quite well aswell, considering that one had to climb up the chart.

I'm hoping Calvin's presence on Off The Record will help it be at least another top 5 hit (although it's released on quite a competitive week). I think his fourth album may do a bit better than Third Strike anyway.

If you look at it this way, he got 4 top 25 hits off Third Strike, which is the same as the amount he got off Catch 22. So it wasn't too much of a disaster singles-wise. (Of course the album missing the top 40 wasn't great though )

I find it very sad really after how well he did with Catch 22 and how he kind of developed the grime scene and a bit made it like it is today (I know though Wiley 'created it' credit to him) and with Spaceship and off the record judged it looks like he's making a kind of new sound which has appealed so far

YESS! That made my day that it's finally cracked the top.40 at least! Now please just keep climbing. considering not much Airplay I think shed need to make it sawfly inside at least Top.30 of ITunes and stay there for the rest of the week to get a definite official Top.40 single.

Also Adele - Set Fire To The Rain is the oldest song in the top.20! achievement! ^_^

I think you'll find Danza Kuduro is a bit older than Set Fire To The Rain :P It was first released in August 2010, it just took us 14 and a half months to finally get it.

Boo @ Birdy. Hope it doesn't go top 40 officially. (I'm really surprised she's managed to rack up three top 50 hits, possibly 2 of those top 40, she struck me as an obvious one-hit wonder with 'Skinny Love').

Yep when grime came about Wiley, Dizzee and Tinchy were the pioneers, so I was glad to see all 3 see chart success. Tinchy is still about and doing well, although Third Strike flopped, good singles came from it Also, Spaceship has done well, I think it's sold close to 200k, and I hope 'off the record' can do better, although I'm not a big fan of the track.

Do you think the reason for his decline in radio airplay was because of Tinie? ohmy.gif I mean, it could be I guess. I never really considered that before. I certainly felt In My System got a lot less airplay than even You're Not Alone.

just catching up on this thread from when I mentioned tinchy earlier, apologies for the late reply. I don't think Tinie replaced him, it's just when he came along with a HUGE hit, it was more of Tinie or Tinchy and not both side by side like it should've been considering Tinchy was the highest selling male artist in the uk in 08/09 (can't remember). Tinie deserved the success but it shouldn't have overshadowed tinchy, and he should still be getting a lot of airplay but sadly he isn't. 'Off the record' is similar to a lot of chart music right now, catchy lyrics, featuring a very hot artist right now, something like this by a different artist and radio stations would cream their pants and play this frequently.

I forgot his album missed the top 40! :o I can't believe that happened. It's just so strange, like where did his fans go?

Tinchy would've been highest male in 2009 I guess. 2008 was the year with Dance Wiv Me (also produced by Calvin Harris :D), American Boy, etc.

I think some of the commercial radio stations don't want to be playing too many UK rap songs at the same time, so perhaps after the huge-ness of Pass Out, they were always going to opt for Tinie's songs.

I love Off the Record personally. I agree it would fit in well with the charts. I heard it on Radio 1 today, but I've not really heard it anywhere else. Hopefully, if it does really well in its first week, other radio stations will rush to play it more.

 6. Sexy and I Know It - LMFAO :D

 7. Moves Like Jagger (Studio Recording from the Voice Performance) - Maroon 5 :D

 10. Lego House - Ed Sheeran :w00t:

 11. Stereo Hearts (feat. Adam Levine) - Gym Class Heroes

Now for Lego House to overtake Moves Like Jagger, then Try With Me to go top 10 and also overtake Moves Like Jagger, then... OTHER SONGS to overtake Moves Like Jagger so it drops out of the top 10. Woo.

So happy Ed is top 10 anyway. I hope Lego House can be a third top 5 hit for him (and outsell YNM,IDNY).

 14. Danza Kuduro (Throw Your Hands Up) [Radio Edit] [feat. Don Omar] - Lucenzo & Qwote

Still climbing. I hope there's a small chance it can still go top 10. (Also 119 & 174).

 36. People Help the People - Birdy

Meh.

 55. Higher Love - James Vincent Mc Morrow

:o Doing so well now! I wonder why it's picked up a lot in the last couple of days? It's not like the ad wasn't on TV before then.

 64. The First Note Is Silent - High Contrast

 161. The First Note Is Silent (Radio Edit) - High Contrast

Definitely looking good for this to be High Contrast's highest charting single :D He's like a mini DJ Fresh.

I think Nicole's missed her chance of going top 10, the xFactor effect has helped her much more than Cher though, deserved as Cher Llyod was quite bad. I just noticed that One Direction are #11 on Australian iTunes already without any promotion!

02. Rihanna & Calvin Harris - We Found Love (Should Climb to number one soon)

03. Cher Llyod - With Ur Love

10. Ed Sheeran - Lego House 33.6%

11. Gym Class Heroes - Stereo Hearts 32.9%

12. Nicole Scherzinger - Try With Me 30.2%

New Releases

 34. People Help the People - Birdy

Also noticed this:

Still see Cher at number 2. -_-

Rihanna went to number two on my feed!

David Guetta & Usher - Without You is now 59p

Go on "99 Problems", would be wonderful to see it make the top 40.

I assume you mean *again*...

Incredibly close top 4!

Just 10% separating 1-3, and only another 10% to #4. :o
