Posted October 24, 201113 yr I know this is more for troubleshooting on the forum and stuff, but I thought a few people would know about it here... I'm getting this thing pop up every now and again, and it's annoying me! Does anyone know how I could get rid of it? http://i54.tinypic.com/4rb4w6.jpg So I click on "Show me the message" and it says something like "Cannot uninstall as it is needed for Nokia Ovi player" or something. But I never even tried to uninstall anything to do with that. So I uninstalled Nokia Ovi Player, as I thought that'd get rid of it. NOP is now gone, but that message still keeps coming back. I've tried uninstalling that programme by myself, but it still won't let me do it. It's annoying me and I'm close to throwing my laptop out the window! LOL. Sorry for the lack of information, but I hope someone can get what I mean haha.
November 11, 201113 yr I seriously have little or no idea what I can do to help. :( Probably delete MsiExec.exe which I can see where it would be from image 02. Edited November 11, 201113 yr by FM11
January 3, 201213 yr Author I still could nearly die, Dandy*! :( Just tried what you suggested FM, but can't find the Msiexec thing, to delete. So I found some more Nokia related stuff to uninstall, but it's not uninstalling as it's saying "something is trying to install, complete the installation before uninstalling." or something along those lines. Ah well. Thanks for your help though :D
January 4, 201213 yr It does sound as though you've not uninstalled all of the components as it's suggesting that you've still got a program there that's now incompatible because you've uninstalled the Nokia Player. I've copied this from a support forum but it may work: UNINSTALL OVI PLAYER · On your computer, kindly go to the CONTROL PANEL> ADD and REMOVE PROGRAMS and uninstall the following: 1. Nokia OVI Player 2. Nokia Multimedia Common Components 3. PC Connectivity Solution 4. Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver · After uninstalling the programs, kindly follow this steps: 1. Delete the following folders if they are present, but first make hidden files and folders visible: a. Open a windows explorer window (for example, My Computer or My Documents). b. Go to Tools - Folder options… c. On View tab, go to Advanced Settings. d. Ensure that “Show Hidden files and folders” is selected. 2. After selecting “Show hidden files and folders”, delete the following folders: ***on Windows XP · NOKIA OVI PLAYER- C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Music · MPLATFORM- C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\MPlatform · NOKIA DATA STORE- C:\Documents and Settings\>\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Data Store · NOKIA OVI PLAYER- C:\Documents and Settings\>\Local Settings\Application Data\ Nokia\ OVI Player ***on Windows Vista · NOKIA OVI PLAYER- C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia OVI Player · MPLATFORM- C:\Program Files\ Common Files\ Nokia\ MPlatform · NOKIA DATA STORE- C:\Users\>\App Data\Local\ Nokia\Nokia Data Store · NOKIA OVI PLAYER- C:\Users\>\App Data\Local\Nokia\Nokia OVI Player Oh and apologies Jonjo, I was too busy making a quip last time that I didn't actually check to see if I could help or not! :D
January 5, 201213 yr Author Argh. It won't let me uninstall them as it's coming up with "Another program is being installed. Please wait until that installation is complete and then try installing this software again". Would it be best if I downloaded OVI player again and then uninstalled it again? Would that work, do you think? (P.S. I do thank you for helping me ) EDIT: It won't even let me install it again :drama:
October 1, 201212 yr Didn't really wanna start a new thread on this so thought i'd just ask here. Does anyone else keep getting this message popping up at the bottom of the screen: "Do you want to open or save jload.js from pixel.adsafeprotected.com?" I keep trying to close it but then it just comes up again, and it's only happening on this site btw. Starting to annoy me!
October 1, 201212 yr Just saw Ghosty has started a thread at the same time lol so answer there instead please
