I'm MEGA shocked that Toxic went... of course, it's not the quality of the song, it's the Britney haters..... there's NO WAY Toxic would've gone if we were voting on song merits alone - certainly not when there's a list featuring the 2 worst Sugababes singles, a Shakira abomination and the ghastliness that is Katy freaking Perry.

 

I'm absolutely not a Britney Spears fan - but Toxic is a CLASSIC pop single.

Toxic me be a pop classic but in my opinion its still very overrated.

 

Im a huge Sugababes fan but even I agree that the 2 songs still in are far from their best.

Toxic is not a classic pop single. It sounds completely outdated. At the time it was good (I even have it on single), but in retrospect is not even close to being one of her best singles.

I also wouldn't call Maneater a classic even though I really like it. Say It Right is something more along the lines of a pop classic (imo)

Like it or not, Toxic IS a classic pop single... and easily regarded as one of her (few) classics.

 

And Maneater is a great great single. Classic? It's a huge single. And resurrected, briefly, a dead in the water career.
