Zowie was lucky to make #1 in the sense that it may not have made it in a full week, but that aside, it was TOTALLY fair. It sold the most copies and even with the minimal streaming included, it was #1. It was not unfair on Years & Years. Spotify would've put Zowie further ahead.

David Zowie was only ~900 chart sales away from being one of the unluckiest #2's of all time~
in what way is it the 2nd best selling song of the week???

unless you mean that 'Shine' would have been #1 if the tracking period was Sunday to Saturday rather than Sunday to Thursday, but there always had to be a transition week to the new chart tracking week.

I agree that it was very lucky to make #1 though.

I was referring to the sales only chart.

Even in the grand scheme of things this is the most opportunistic #1 ever, Years & Years would have beaten him in the combined chart if it was a 7 day chart.

Sales only chart has Shine at #2. Funnily enough it's the streaming chart that has Shine ahead. Probably because of mass Y&Y spamming on apple music.

This would absolutely be a case of an unlucky #2 if it happened! Cause Spotify would undoubtedly put Zowie ahead if he were #2 today.

Shine was ahead of House Every Weekend on the paid for purchases all week long so it's really baffling how David Zowie is ranked as #1 on the sales and download chart.

David Zowie had much better pre-orders than Years & Years, and with sales so close that must've done it for him

I suppose so and with it being only a 900 sales difference that last minute boost last night for David Zowie must have played a key role as well.
