August 3, 200618 yr Britney's 'My Prerogative' is a totally awful mess IMO. And it was a #3. :P  It's a song I like to dance to when I'm alone XD
August 3, 200618 yr kylie has had many number 2's but her better the devil you know should have gone all the way,its still known to this day and its around 15 years old bon jovi always should have gone all the way and likewise shakira's whenever whereever
August 3, 200618 yr I agree, Kylie's No.2's were robbed. Lol. And about Britney's "Prerogative", mess or not it was denied from the top spot by the awful "Just Lose It" by Eminem :puke:
August 3, 200618 yr Pogues & Kirsty McColl - Fairy Tale Of New York!!! Kelis - Trick Me Kylie - I Believe In You Cant think of any more right now Edited August 3, 200618 yr by Timpo06
August 3, 200618 yr ya kylie has been robbed a few times from number 1,i belive in you would easily have been number 1 only it was up against band aid 20
August 3, 200618 yr mariah careys all iwant for christmas is another one,and should have definitly been the christmas number 1,its the only decent christmas song that will stand the test of time that has been made in recent enough years
August 4, 200618 yr In terms of actual popularity, rather than my personal choices, these... The Pogues - Fairytale Of New York Ultravox - Vienna Natalie Imbruglia - Torn Madonna - Ray Of Light M People - Moving On Up Shakira - Whenever Wherever Pink - Get The Party Started Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This Verve - Bittersweet Symphony Kelis - Milkshake There are probably HUNDREDS though...
August 4, 200618 yr Natalie Imbruglia deserved No.1 with both "Torn" and "Big Mistake", superb tunes! Talking about Christmas songs, I entirely agree about Mariah Carey and also think Wham!'s "Last Christmas": hugely selling single and amazing pop song but only managed No.2.
August 4, 200618 yr Natalie Imbruglia - Torn Annie Lennox - No More I Love Yous Let Loose - Crazy For You Shakira - Whenever Wherever Verve - Bittersweet Symphony Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You Chumbawumba - Tubtumping (WILL SMITH WAS A LOT WORSE) Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams... 'Torn' and Let Loose especially! My favourite #2s ever.
August 4, 200618 yr Poor Rihanna keeps getting stuck at #2 without a #1, a bit like Sash! and Justin Timberlake.
August 4, 200618 yr I agree, Kylie's No.2's were robbed. Lol. And about Britney's "Prerogative", mess or not it was denied from the top spot by the awful "Just Lose It" by Eminem :puke: It was denied from the top spot by Just Lose It AND Destiny's Child at number 2 with Lose My Breath, IIRC. As a (sort of) Britney fan, I do have to say that those two songs were better. But still :arrr: Car Wash by Xtina deserved higher than 4!
Good post finally with a lot of sensible choices! I was going to give up on this thread after wading through a million "Britney should have got to No.1 with all her songs but was held off by X and X and X and X......" moans. Probably should add to list: Bad Day - Daniel Powter
August 4, 200618 yr Shakira's Whenever Wherever was unlikely to get to No.1 as it was up against Will Young's Evergreen and we know how many that sold. However he was pipped at the post with You and I/Don't Let Me Down by Christina Aguilera's Dirrty (which I personally loathe - but not for beating Will's single).
August 4, 200618 yr Songs that should morally have been #1: Perez Prado - Guaglione (think how many records THAT would've broken!) Pulp - Common People U2 - Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me Oasis - Wonderwall Fatboy Slim - Right Here Right Now Offspring - Why Don't You Get A Job Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone S Club 7 - Two In A Million / You're My Number One Artful Dodger ft Craig David - Re-Rewind Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400 Girls Aloud - Jump Song that should technically have been joint #1: Deee-Lite - Groove Is In The Heart But the song that was (quite literally) criminally robbed of #1: S Club - Say Goodbye / Love Ain't Gonna Wait For You
