November 5, 201113 yr Calvin Harris gets his first US #1 hit. :D (all thanks to Rihanna of course but still). I'm surprised at the massive drop for Coldplay 'Paradise' 15-49!!! :o
November 5, 201113 yr It's usual for singles to drop in sales when the parent album is released (complete my album or sth).. However, this drop is quite massive because Paradise is going nowhere in airplay and doesn't score much points from there. Edited November 5, 201113 yr by SKOB
November 5, 201113 yr Author I'm surprised at the massive drop for Coldplay 'Paradise' 15-49!!! :o As it was a pre-order track, all those sales were subtracted from the track total for anyone who pre-ordered the album through iTunes, as it's viewed as complete my album. Happened to Britney during Femme Fatale's release week. Excerpt from Paul Grein: Five songs from Femme Fatale are listed on Hot Digital Songs, but "Hold It Against Me" isn't among them. How can that be? (The smash, which reached #1 on both the Hot 100 and Hot Digital Songs, was #66 on the digital chart last week.) It's the impact of returns due to customers' "Complete My Album" option. Enough fans took advantage of that clever gimmick that the song showed negative sales this week. http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/chart_wat...a-female-first/
November 5, 201113 yr Princess Of China top 20  Shake It Out #86 :cheer: Edited November 5, 201113 yr by Bré

November 5, 201113 yr Dev will be one of them songs that fails to crack top 10 sadly :( The word is "THOSE". Good to see Calvin at number one! Hopefully a crossover is on its way!
November 5, 201113 yr If I'm not mistaken Calvin Harris is the first Scottish act to get a BBH100 #1 since Simple Minds in 1985 with Don't You (Forget About Me)... :o And the first time a British act has knocked another off #1 since 1992 when Right Said Fred's I'm Too Sexy knocked off George Michael and Elton John's Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me :D Edited November 5, 201113 yr by Bré
November 5, 201113 yr Really happy that Florence got another placement! Hopefully Shake It Out can be as big as Dog Days was. Domino is slowly rising too. Edited November 5, 201113 yr by Umi
November 6, 201113 yr The word is "THOSE". Good to see Calvin at number one! Hopefully a crossover is on its way! Oh right sorry
November 6, 201113 yr 5 British acts in the top 20 and 11 in the Hot 100.... things are really improving for Brits in The US thanks to downloads.... back in the 90's and early 00's it was unheard off, a lot of BB hot 100's didn't have any british act....

Still :P Edited November 6, 201113 yr by Bré
November 6, 201113 yr Three British artists have got US #1s this year aswell (Adele, Lauren Bennett and Calvin Harris)! :o
November 8, 201113 yr Three British artists have got US #1s this year aswell (Adele, Lauren Bennett and Calvin Harris)! :o To be fair Adele is the only one of those artists that really had a number 1. It's like when Xtina fans proclaimed 'the Queen is back at number 1' when we all know it's a Maroon5 song, same for the whole 'Britneys 5th US number!' when S&M hit number 1. P.s. Im the biggest supporter for British artist being successful worldwide especially in the US.

Adele didn't have 'a' number 1, she had 2 :P It's stupid that some people count S&M as a #1 for Britney IMO.
