December 5, 201113 yr If Skrillex is up for it, he'll most likely win. I think that it's the only way he's going to be a major chart force next year, without mainstream media backing he'll continue to be hugely influential and popular but won't translate it into sales.
December 5, 201113 yr On the whole I think it's a disappointing list. Hoping Azealia Banks takes it. Surprised at the lack of The Weeknd and The Good Natured, and disappointed at the lack of a decent pop act, though theoretically I should be pleased with Stooshe's inclusion I suppose.
December 5, 201113 yr wow, I don't know any of them  this year seems to be looking a lot less predictable Edited December 5, 201113 yr by C.W
December 5, 201113 yr Azealia Banks or Friends for me. Frank Ocean would be too obvious and PLEASE not Skrillex.
December 5, 201113 yr I KNOW OF the following: Azealia Banks Dot Rotten Flux Pavilion Frank Ocean Friends Lianne La Havas Niki & The Dove Skrillex Spector StooShe (Fuck Me is HOT MESS CENTRAL) Hoping for an Azealia Banks win, but good performances from Friends, Niki & The Dove, Spector and StooShe would be MORE THAN WELCOME. Skrillex can GET THE FUCK OUT.
December 5, 201113 yr Author It's such a HIDEOUS list. It's blocked up with MoR soul/singer-songwriter/folk or harder hip-hop/dubstep. It's interesting that THIS is the talent A&R people are finding and pushing with such weight in the New Year. I'm sure a few will have success but the standard is the lowest it has been for years.
December 5, 201113 yr Well if that's what next year's music is going to be like, then it'll be a cheap year for me :D

It's interesting that THIS is the talent A&R people are finding and pushing with such weight in the New Year. I'm sure a few will have success but the standard is the lowest it has been for years. I was thinking this. Since I actually KNOW of like half the artists this time. Usually I've only known one or two. So the list can't be that good tbh. Skrillex I know because he did a song with the Black Eyed Peas (Rock That Body remix) and Snoop Dogg last year (and he's mentioned on EVERY dubstep-related video on Youtube :drama:). And everybody was going mad over that Ruffneck Bass song a few months ago. I do like him though, despite how overrated he might be. I know Flux Pavillion because of the song he did with Kanye West/Jay-Z on Watch the Throne, and I've heard him on Radio 1 before. Frank Ocean, I honestly thought would be too well-known to be in this. He'd be a great contribution to mainsteam RnB and hip hop music though, and he's got great connections through the likes of Jay-Z, Tyler the Creator, etc. Dot Rotton, boy, where do I begin with him! Although he was in the charts on that charity song only a couple of weeks ago, so I thought he wouldn't be eligible (unless maybe the OCC credited it to "The Collective" rather than the individual artists). ASAP Rocky, I don't think I've ever actually listened to, but is constantly being talked about on practically every forum I visit (except this one ).
December 5, 201113 yr I know of Dot Rotten through his feature on Dub On The Track with Cher Lloyd, ha! (What a tune.)
December 5, 201113 yr I know of Dot Rotten through his feature on Dub On The Track with Cher Lloyd, ha! (What a tune.) Yeah, I love that song. They've got a music video filmed for it too (although I don't think they have plans for it to be an actual single). He got quite a bit of hate for doing a song with Cher Lloyd though, as I'm sure we can all probably imagine.

Surprised at the lack of The Weeknd and The Good Natured, and disappointed at the lack of a decent pop act, though theoretically I should be pleased with Stooshe's inclusion I suppose. The Weeknd is already quite big, he doesn't really need this, having released two mixtapes and about to release the third. Anyway, <3 at the inclusion of Azealia, Skrillex, Friends and obviously Frank Ocean. Hope he wins
December 5, 201113 yr I am so excited for Skrillex being on here. I've just made a thread about him in the dance forum, because I think he'll be MASSIVE
December 5, 201113 yr Skrillex on the list = Skrillex will win. I wouldn't have a problem with that, only that it's a bit predictable. I've heard of all of these people bar Jamie N Commons, Ren Harvieu and Spector (although I've never heard any music by A$AP Rocky, Dry The River, Friends or StooShe either, I just recognise their names).
December 5, 201113 yr Let's have a MOMENT to StooShe - Fuck Me (coming soon to a vidcapper 'it's urban shite but they're fit' judgement NEAR YOU) *.* http://bit.ly/tdOKmr
December 5, 201113 yr I only heard material from Dot Rotten, Flux Pavilion, Michael Kiwanuka, Niki & The Dove, Skrillex and StooShe so far. At a first glance I'm quite interested in listening to Azealia Banks, Jamie N Commons, Lianne La Havas and Ren Harvieu :)
December 5, 201113 yr Well, Azealia for the win, please! Heard of a lot of the others, but either not listened to their tracks, or don't particularly love them. Will have to listen to a few of them though. I don't want Skrillex to win, if only because I've seen him everywhere on every remix going and being Facebooked every other day by the dubstep fans I have on there. He doesn't seem anything that special.
December 5, 201113 yr What a rubbish list, I only knew of a few of them beforehand, but checking the rest out I think I'll pass.
