Oh dear at how appallingly 'Up' is doing, I thought it'd be the 'Broken Strings' of this era :(

Olly hopefully on course to at least get a #2 hit even if he can't overcome Rihanna with her XF boost. :D

Maroon 5 are back up to #7 with the weekend effect - I suspect they'll probably hold onto the top 10 for another fecking week then -_-

:D Good! Was baffled why they weren't playing it earlier. I thought that with it being retro radio 2 might have played it too but no. That's one station Will has over Olly.

Tbf though DWMT definately will be a hit. Maybe they look at what other radio stations are doing first to see if a song is likely to be big or not.

Oh I agree down to commercial radio support it's chicken & egg situation. Olly is still fairly new on the scene when he's been around a bit longer he may find charting high with singles a bit more difficult.

Bre what is that picture in your sig? Is that Justin Bieber!?!

Yes, it's a clip of Justin Bieber being shot and killed.

Olly up to #15 already and Rebecca up to #43 !

I'm afraid Rebecca will kind of flop since she hasn't moved up that much since charting with the pre-orders. She will be more of an album seller I'm sure :)

If Olly goes to #1 I will cut someone :puke: :puke: Thankfully The X Factor are showing Rebecca and Rihanna tonight, which means We Found Love should get a massive boost and spend a 6th week at top

26 En Vogue/ Don't Let Go (Love) and other versions at #61, #215 and #256 and #464 and #870.

Also not sure if these songs were there last night but:

#461 Free Your Mind

495 My Lovin' (You've Never Gonna Get It)

714 Whatta Man ft Salt-N-Pepa

124 Sixpence None The Richer/ Kiss Me and also #143#

168 Jackie Wilson/ (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher also other versions at #384#

244 Gladys Knight/ Licence To Kill

261 Whitney Houston/ I Have Nothing also other versions at #460 and #677 and #983

Not much of a effect of 'Think' only at #645

So glad Maroon 5 are bouncing back yet again!

So Olly will undoubtedly knock out 'Without You' soon - unless 'Gotta Be You' falls past WY beforehand.

Then Rebecca could potentially push her former competitors 1D out of the top 10 (or WY) if her XF performance is effective enough (I think it will be).

I think M5 and LMFAO might stay top 10 for yet another week (well I hope M5 do).

SAIKI is certainly this year's 'Tik Tok'.

It could be 'You Da One' Rihanna sings it more likely at would be 'We Found Love'

No, none of them even mentioned - but wow, so shocked people have gone and downloaded other En Vogue tracks (presumably) just off the back of Little Mix doing Don't Let Go :o

If you keep dissing Olly I will cut YOU :)

Not really, SAIKI is a post-album single while TiK ToK was an under-performing new single (peak-wise anyway). I don't think we've had a TiK ToK this year but 'Like A G6' was the TiK ToK of 2010.

I was talking strictly chart-wise.

I was talking strictly chart-wise.

So was I. They're completely different situations chart-wise. If, say, We Found Love had a TT/LAG6-style chart run then that would be the TT of 2011. But seeing as it didn't... it isn't.

I'm not talking about their "situations" though. Strictly chart runs. Simply how they both peaked low top 5 (I keep forgetting that TT peaked at #4 and not #5) and have lingered around the top 10 for ages - moving up and down constantly. Plus they were both released around the hectic XF season. :P

I hate 'Sexy & I Know It'. Just awful :( I'd rather listen to One Direction's latest...

And I always compare 'Tik Tok' to 'Hot N Cold' personally. Two hugely massive and popular mainstream tracks that missed the top 3 in the UK but ended up bouncing up and down the top 10 and going platinum(ish).

Last year we kind of had two "TiK ToK"s, "Cooler Than Me" had a similar chart run. On the topic of Ke$ha and "Like A G6", I'm hoping Far East Movement can come back with a superior version of LAG6 and score a lucky (ish) #1 in early 2012 :D

Rebecca will go top 20, probably top 10, but I agree she's more of an album seller.

But FUCK YEAH at Olly Murs and Maroon 5 :w00t:

Their chart runs are similar-ish I suppose (although LMFAO peaked in their 2nd top 10 week while Ke$ha did so on her eighth) but I wouldn't call it this year's TiK ToK on the grounds that the nature of its release is very different from that of TiK ToK/Like A G6. Let's just agree to disagree anyway as this 'argument' is clearly not gonna go anywhere

'Cooler Than Me' was also a similar situation to 'Sexy And I Know It' IMO. Another example of 'a TiK ToK' is The Fray's How To Save A Life. New release, low top 5 peak, loads of weeks in the top 10 only peaking right at the end (LAG6 didn't do this), big hit in the USA and moving up and down a lot. The only things it's missing are a fake version charting on iTunes previously and the return to the top 10 shortly after dropping out :P

Actually, now I think about it, Jar Of Hearts is a bit of a '2011 TiK ToK' (although again that didn't enter straight into the top 10).
