Rebecca is not doing so well. :( I thought it would do better, but it is a boring song. Really bad choice here.

I don't mind him but the judges congratulated him on being number 1 on itunes, then a girl held up a sign via webcam saying download his single, then it was on in the background and we were told it was out again, then in tulisa's dressing room louis congratulated him on being #1 on itunes again, then we had jedward holding up download his singles signs. I gave up watching then as it was getting stupid.

This is embarrassing. And this is a few of several weeks he has done it. Really sad. Instead of learning about the contestants, he just use it to plug his stuff.

OMG are you for real? Ratings are up and the quality of the show is the best it's ever been. The tv critics rate him, I mean it just sounds like you're biased against him. You don't like him ok but what you're saying about his affect on Xtra Factor is flat out wrong!

Last night ratings for Xtra Factor is 403K. :o This is really bad. The show when Holly was on pulled in 1-2 million. Really gone down hill. Olly is awkward and a marmite on that show. There is no more chemistry that Holly use to bring.

To add some context, Xtra Factor was low because it was against Im A Celeb. Two weeks ago Xtra Factor had 1m. The only time the show ever got that much past 1m with Holly was during the final. But I agree that Olly shouldnt be presenting and Holly is far better than him and Caroline (and hotter!).

Without Im A Celeb like in 2nd week of October 2011, it was 600k.

Also, when Holly was there, it was over 1m several times. Like 2nd week of November 2009, Xtra factor had 1.1m. :o Also for the final with Holly, it was ~2m. :o

Holly was perfect for that show.

X Factor's viewing figures are down and you would think that wiould impact on the spin off show but everything I've seen in the media has suggested the ratings are up. Most of the comments I see on twitter are people praising the show, the overall opinion of the show is definately positive. Every week topics from the show trend worldwide, it's definatey popular. The stuff you say about viewing figures is interesting but I can't find anything to back it up. Whereas I've seen quite a few references to ratings for the show being up. I think the opinion of Olly in general is of a marmite character but in the X factor world he's loved, people who would watch the Xtra Factor (hardcore X Factor fans) like him. That's why they got him to do the job!

Morning. I guess it depends where on Twitter you look as I said their are a lot of positive comments but also a lot of are absolutely against and have switched off. In part I agree they got him the role because some XF fans like him (he came second after all) but I don't think it's because he's a good presenter it was simply to give him maximum exposure during his releases and keep his profile high. He is still signed jointly to Syco and it was a good idea on their part for that reason. All I'm saying is I doubt he would be a neutral choice as he seems to attract quite extreme reactions either way. Whatever the viewing figure for the actual show being attached to it keeps his name in the paper etc making comments on the acts etc etc.

Ri album tracks

409. Talk That Talk

428. You Da One

521. Where Have You Been

844. Red Lipstick

894. Do Ya Thang

949. Fool In Love

950. We Found Love

It's weird that Talk That Talk is higher than You Da One!?

Also, skimming through iTunes, Rihanna's songs have barely climbed after her performance. :(

Talk That Talk is up to #183 now, which is very high. I'm going to sound like such a pathetic stan now, but I remember Love the Way You Lie was just entering the top 300 when I went to school that day, so being top 200 already for an album track is fantastic.

Well I don't know about all that stuff but it's not much of a walkover atm is it... Olly has continued to pull away from Rihanna since last night. In relation to Olly her sales are almost back to where they were before her performance.

1 Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight 1.0000 1.0000

2 Rihanna - We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris) 0.8916 0.8935

 Your opinion on Xtra Factor has lost all credibility when your acting as if he's a producer on the show, I mean talk about twisting things! He's never mentioned his song once, it's the production team who decide what goes in the show and Caroline and Louis were the ones to mention it last night. I very much doubt they would have been so plug heavy if he'd had a performance of his own this week like he should have. He always learns about the contestants and remains professional. Olly and Caroline have fantastic chemistry, as a pair they outdo Holly.

Holly was perfect for that show.

Ok. ok I get it, you're a Holly fan! So am I. She was indeed a top presenter but let's not forget, he never replaced her did he? Last year the show hemorrhaged viewers, no one watched, they're picking the show back up again. Plus the main show was alot more popular when Holly did it and it didn't have competition like Downton Abbey and Big Brother, with all 3 on at the same time. No one's saying Olly is a better presenter but I'd say he's at least as popluar with the X Factor hardcore. Olly's fanbase brings alot of viewers in (1.4m fans on facebook, almost 1m on twitter, #1 singles, sellout arena tour. Take away the Caroline & Olly partnership this year and one man and his dog would be watching.

I disagree because Simon was going for a two presenter team of one artist and one presenter in Nicole and Steve Jones over in the US as well. There's no doubt it's solidified his fanbase but they mainly wanted the viewers back and the show to work IMO.

Is it the X Factor production team that is responsible for Ollys begging for downloads on twitter then?

I don't watch the Xtra Factor but am shocked viewing figures are so low. :o

Uh oh. Assuming "Moves Like Jagger" climbs later in the week it's between GaGa and Coldplay for a top 10 place. :(
Tbh if they could both get in there I wouldn't mind MLJ being out of the top 10 (even if I really hope it stays there til 2012).
Is it the X Factor production team that is responsible for Ollys begging for downloads on twitter then?

And why shouldn't he promote himself on his own twitter account? Most artists accounts are merely promotional tools that the artists don't even tweet on, but he's always tweeting random stuff which is what it's meant for. Hey, you have to promote your songs, everyone does it. The most succesful artists are harnessing the power of social media these days. Fans enjoy being part of a collective push for number 1.

Of course they want the show to work but they also want to sell records. Not blaming them for that, killing two birds with one stone. It's Cheryl all over again using the show to enhance her overall image. I don't blame him for doing it but lets not pretend it anything other than what it is. I think we have to agree to disagree about Olly's impact on the viewing figures. As I said his fans are very happy they get an hour of him every week but I've seen many message on Twitter saying they have had enough of him and Caroline flirting with each other deliberately (stories all over the paper, saying they would like to date) to get viewers and him breaking into impromtu dance moves. Cringeworthy is a word I hear a lot. BTW his show at the O2 4 example is not sold out, have a look plenty of tickets available. They are promoting him brilliantly however. 1.4m million fans on facebook is irrelevant his album sold less than half that same as Twitter. It doesnt take much to click "like".

rebecca 5 and kelly 4 :)

Surprised Rebecca is #5. Nothing against her as such but the song is a bit dull.

That'll be because they've recently added an extra date there, as the first date there was selling so well. He's doing a few more venues twice as well due to great sales. Also who cares how much his last album sold, when as we've been talking about so I'm sure your aware, he's gained alot of new fans in a year. Still, his last album sold brilliantly. Watch how many his new one sells, his new single wouldn't be number 1 without his fanbase putting their money where their tweets are. ;)

Of the three big albums (Rihanna, 1D, Saturdays), I actually think The Saturdays is the best! Can't believe I'm saying that but Rihanna's is rather dull, 1D's samey and despite they've ripped off 'Papi' and Alexis Jordan's 'Happiness', I think The Sats have produced a solid pop record :o

I wasnt saying he didnt have a good fanbase he does. I was just saying someone liking you on Facebook does not mean you are real fan or will buy your music. HSAB has sold what 350-400k plus? (thats off the top of my head so may not be accurate) So that's 1 million plus people on facebook that 'like' him that havent bought it. So saying he has 1.4 fans is silly in relation to drawing viewing figures for Xtra Factor. I don't doubt his album will do well. If you look at the first date for the O2 all the 3rd tier seats are still available. I'm not saying that's bad just that its good promotion to say "sell out tour" when in reality thats not quite true.
