I've never watched Emmerdaleand the appalling Yorkshire accents

Yorkshire accents :o - not all i'm afraid

Kerry, Amy & Val are all Geordies,

Debbie is from Bury, Katie - Bolton, Nicola - Burnley, Zak - Bury, Andy - Oldham, Marlon - Bolton, Charity - Morecambe,Pearl - Manchester, Rhona - Manchester, Bob - Manchester, Cain - Manchester - Betty - Manchester, Jai - Manchester (all Lancashire/Greater Manchester)

Declan - London, Cameron - London, Rodney - Oxford,

What about all those appalling London accents in Eastenders - I'd rather watch Emmerdale than Eastenders anyday

Are people really going to nitpick over accents?

As for the abundance of Geordies, two of the three are related so it's not just as if it's a bunch of randomers who happened to meet in Yorkshire.

My point is that it's filmed and set near Leeds, which is in Yorkshire.

And Jark, why shouldn't their accents be criticised when the casts of fellow soaps are identified so much by theirs?

What on earth are you talking about? All of the soaps feature a massive hotchpotch of accents. If they only employed actors from Yorkshire they wouldn't be able to find enough decent ones.

I understand that, but that's why it's called acting.

I suppose it's a compliment if the only thing you can find to be anal about is the accents.
So Chas is going to think that she killed Carl if Cameron doesn't tell her that it was in fact him who finished the job.

Emmerdale hasn't been in the best health for a while now, but this upcoming storyline sounds like it could be great:

Brenda is diagnosed with a brain tumour.

I expected we'll get some very good performances out of this.

Anyone know what has happened to Diane Sugden (Woolpack landlady) in Emmerdale?

Elizabeth Estensen who plays Diane hasn't been seen onscreen since last summer.

There is nothing on the Emmerdale website or Wikipedia.

Could you not have used the Emmerdale thread?

Liz had to take time off for personal reasons. She's back filming now and will be on screen soon (thank God!).

Who's Cameron's next victim (well indirectly anyway) Find out on 25 July

Here's the spoiler

Gennie Sharma

Poor Emmerdale thread getting lost onto the second page. :(

Anyway, Cameron killing Gennie was really surprising. I had read that Cameron was to kill again and I heard Gennie was leaving, though I thought that would have been in a few months time since there is still the storyline with Brenda's cancer. I always love a good car chase and I thought this one was particularly well filmed and acted, even if the whole trying to pick up phone whilst driving thing is a bit cliché. I don't usually feel this over soap characters but I really hated Cameron for killing her off!

I was so upset and angry and annoyed last night, Gennie  I've gone so OTT with my reaction, but Gennie was by far my favourite character! There are a few good storylines now though, I'm enjoying the Rhona stuff although it's dragged on for a bit too long and then there's Brenda's brain tumour and the Dan and Kerry stuff (I find her really likeable for some reason, I find myself rooting for her although she's done so much!).

Debbie can just FOAD though, how she's got to be there for 10 years now is beyond me. She's absolutely terrible imo. And this Cameron seems like it will drag out for god knows how much longer :/

I'm not sure if its Debbeh Dingle I don't like or the actress who plays her. Either way, she needs to leave as soon as possible!! Cameron can also get lost too as I'm sick of him!

Overall Emmerdale was never my top choice soap or probably not 2nd either but it is excellent at the moment and it is the soap i am most excited about. I do enjoy the soaps in general and go through phases of having a different faveourite but Emmerdale is in pole position at the moment. I am excited about Cameron unraveling but i do think Debbie will leave too. She was just as much to blame for Jannie;s death as Cameron and in soap-land characters who commit such a crime always get punished. With Debbie breaking up with David in real life too it may be good for her to move on as i am sure it is not easy working with an ex, even though they dont share scenes that much they still work together.

That's a real shame. She's been an absolute star.

This is so dull atm, but gutted

Chelsea Halfpenny
