"i don't watch that countryside shit"

What kind of shit do you watch then?

I think it's just Ross fans not wanting to admit to themselves he's actually dead :P

I'm not really a Ross fan (I think the actor is good - but the character isn't likeable at all) but I was fairly shocked to see him go. I'm still a bit sceptical though and I'd rather the characters Pete or Debbie had died.

I've not watched tonight's episode yet so I don't know what's happening. I'm treating myself to a nice bottle of wine and I'm going to watch my recorded Emmerdale and (as shit as it is) Corrie back-to-back with a little bit of Mark Williams 'The Link' fitted in somewhere!

Caught up on Emmerdale and it's been a truly fantastic week. Aside from Val, only because we knew she was leaving, I had no idea who was going to die this week. I remember the exc producer said it would just be smaller characters so I was actually expecting someone like Cain, Chas or Aaron to die when watching those scenes with helicopter dangling from the roof.

I echo above that Ruby's death scene was very touching and well acted, despite the fact Ruby won't really be missed. Shocked that Ross was killed off, I thought there would be a lot more of the Ross-Peter-Debbie story to come so expected him to survive, but this twist has led to a potentially really interesting aftermath. In fact, that can be said for all the events of the week. Crew members usually say this sort of thing and it's never really the case, but I genuinely feel like Emmerdale will never be the same again!

Lots of mystery and intensity all week and great stunts - Emmerdale desperately need to win awards for this.

I'm happy that Chrissie confessing wasn't dragged out for ages - usually the drama dies after a big week in soapland (Eastenders following anniversary week) but it looks set to continue.

Just seen tonight's - I'm not that shocked?! I kept saying "oh he must actually be dead, Michael Parr tweeted goodbye Ross" but at the same time when it happened I was like "oh, kinda expected that"... If that makes sense? I'm glad anyway :D
I'm the same  Quite disappointed though because I thought it was a big shock to get rid of Ross that way, and one I approved of too. I guess this is the only way to keep Pete out of jail and in the show though lol.
Ross' return would have been more impressive if they showed Pete and James leaving to find his body and then cut to the hospital scene revealing Ross, then have Pete and James find that his body isn't there in the next episode. They way it was shown in last night's episode made it so obvious Ross was alive and slightly ruined what could have been a big surprise. I agree that it was a big shock getting rid in the first place but I would have welcomed a good surprise return all the same because the show does feel a bit empty without him.
Today i heard what Alicia;s exit storyline is and all i can say for now is disappointing is not the word.

I agree, I guess they want to leave the door open for a return but tbh I expected a disappointing exit seeing as she didn't die in the stunt. It doesn't seem realistic though, I feel like the only way she'd leave David is if she DID die.

Very unrealistic and a complete insult to both the character and what i would easily call the best actress on the show. The audience waited so long for Alicia and David to officially get together and had so much belief and passion in the couple only for the writers to end it in such a pathetic way. What makes it completely unbelievable is what the couple have already come through standing strong. The most honest word i can use is disgusted, and it is a clear reminder why i am only a part time viewer of the show. David having a one night stand, even a kiss with another woman would have been better than what we will get getting, that could be believed.

Big whodunnit coming next week: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s12/emme...~pouAvgKIwmvuDQ

I'm usually crap at guessing the culprit but this is particularly hard.

I'd say Andy and Chrissie are too obvious; Cain is like Eastenders' Phil in the sense that he's always threatening people but has never attempted murder and that's something I'd imagine the producers would continue; Lawrence I don't think would have it in him; Lachlan was my first guess but I can't imagine an aftermath of him confessing to Chrissie and her trying to protect her son (a la Jane and Bobby in Eastenders) as they already kinda did that with his assault of Alicia; Chas has an argument with Robert just before he's shot so I can't imagine it being her, plus she's a popular character whose reputation the producers wouldn't want to ruin; Paddy would be a shock but again the producers wouldn't ruin the character; and Eric and Ross just sound like other names stuck in just to build numbers.

Aaron could be plausible - he too is a popular character but I feel the audience would sympathise with him and therefore not ruin the character - but there's already hints of his romance with Robert being reunited which would suggest otherwise. Also, Aaron couldn't live with himself afterwards so I don't think he'd have the courage to do it in the first place.

That's a bit tl;dr but it's just me considering who could be the culprit. :P

Good news for Corrie but bad for Emmerdale:

Kate Oates is to become the producer of Corrie, whilst Emmerdale will have Hollyoaks series producer Iain MacLeod as the new producer.

Liz Dawn, aka Corrie's Vera Duckworth, will have a guest appearance on Emmerdale this Christmas: http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/emmerdale/...hristmas-cameo/

I watch Emmerdale fairly regularly now (well more than the other two main ones) but I'll still look forward to this episode. I'm thinking there'll be more than a touch of Mrs Richards / Basil Fawlty from that classic FT episode.

So hope John Middleton gets some recognition when awards season comes around - he's playing this role absolutely brilliantly. I was almost crying tonight!!!!

I have to agree, his scenes were so good they were awful if that makes sense, it felt so real as if it was really happening., i felt so sorry for him. The handling of this storyline is faultless so far.
