This song by The Wanted has grown on me a bit.

 

However, the lyrics "This skin, the touch, the kiss, the rush" reminds me strongly of another song, which I can't exactly recall atm.

i think its just this song and the oversinging on it

The way she sings it at 5:30 in this video is just perfect. I love it when she performs the first chorus softer. This proves she can most certainly sing her own song, its just the studio version that they picked that isn't the best:

'Sweet Disposition' by The Temper Trap is what you're thinking of.

 

'Lightning' is an alright song, but the new album really pales in comparison to that of the last one, which in turn was quite patchy.

I do agree that people do take criticism too much as 'hate', but Jessie does actually get quite a bit of hate on here, and I have certainly come across it.
